Was a tough game for JC. I thought we would have pulled away by more, but Shelby was pesky.

I just cannot figure out why Lawrence County isnt winning more games then they are. Their losses get worse each week. The opponents get weaker each week on their schedule and they still lose. There is great athletes there and great support. Beats me.

Wow, is the 64th down that far this year? For a team as small as RH lose their starting 5 and still win the District is a heck of a statement and tells you the quality of the other teams I guess.

That is good they only lost one then. Info down this way was there was more than one. One player should not make you or break you.

Didnt Rose Hill lose some basketball players due to transferring elsewhere to play Football?

Correct me if I am wrong, but pretty sure there are kids enrolled at Rose Hill that are from Lawrence and Carter County. I might be wrong, but pretty sure that I am not.

This was a good battle and an exciting game to watch. It was a back and forth game. Good luck to BS this season and a big win for JC.

Unfortunately this is two teams in two different leagues. Boyd was over their head scheduling this one, but you have to commend them for playing better teams, which will only make them better in the Postseason. Much better then scheduling teams of the likes of Bracken County a couple of years ago.

It is supposed to be a full game type situation. I look for JC to have a bit of an upper edge on Bell.

The word in Johnson County is that Ashland has another RB in the background that is supposed to be a Sophomore, from out of state(Ohio I think), and is as good as Carter. Any truth to this? If so, hopefully that will help the blow of losing Carter if he doesnt get to play. If Carter does, then should be a good Tandem pair of Runners. Ashland is Ashland, they will do fine and have a winning season. Last year was a record fluke and will not happen again this year. I also believe they have a change to Beat Raceland on Opening Night.

Has anyone else stepped up to take the Team? If the kids truely wanna play, then it should not matter who is Coaching them? What about the past Middle School Coaches, where did they go?

Do you think Coach Ross might have jumped in too early, because he was excited to just get to Coach again. I seen him leave her at JC and I am sure that was not the way he wanted to be remembered as a Coach. I am sure he wanted another shot at Coaching. Maybe he should have just did a little research and put a little more thought into it.

Cant anything work out at Rose Hill without Drama? Now it is another situation of his side/their side. Hopefully if the young men still want to play football over any other sport, then hopefully they can still transfer and get in a good program somewhere. I would say probably 60 percent of the surrounding area did not expect a Football program to last at such a small school anyway.

Practice, who needs stinking Practice! I too hope the best for Coach Ross, but not sure he knew what he was getting into when he took the RH Job. I think he felt a little bit overwhelmed here at JC, but I am sure he is really overwhelmed there. With that said, it would still take a mighty obstacle for Coach Ross to just step away this quick. I guess only time will tell to what the real truth is, and I am going to guess it isnt Health Reasons.

Pounded is such a strong word for a small school. Maybe they should have travel a bit more South down 23 to get some games. I am sure they would have gotten all the competition they could handle.:thumb: Some local counties down South on 23 used to play against all these kids in Youth Leagues and didnt seem to have much problem with them then.

Just because you start Football, doesnt mean it will last or you can compete at it. Hopefully Coach Ross will do them some good, he was good here at JC.

Why is the Carter kid leaving, and where is he going? We have some room for him about 60 miles south down Rt23.

Belfry will be fine. They will lose one regular season game in my opinion and will be ready come Post Season time.

Coach Matney would not get JC in a situation that they could not handle. If the canadian team wins, it wont be by much.

I dont see how the KHSAA can tell a player/parent that moved to a new location, that the player cannot play high school basketball. I just dont understand what power they have been blessed with to make that personal decision concerning a youth game (Basketball). I do understand that option of making a player sit out a year if transferring within his own area or region, but definetly dont understand how they can control a child's life this strongly. If they would have transferred to a small school, then I believe you would not have seen anything on this. Of course the bad part is the comments made by Euton's father about the transfer, then Jackson's mistake was relocating at the same time that Euton did and to the same location. I do feel that the KHSAA needs to keep a watch on some of this, due to stacking of Large, city schools, but that would only include a sharp look at Jackson, not Euton, because they seem to honestly transferred due to occupation.

I first wanna say that you will not find a better person then Bill Tom Ross and hopefully he can keep his Health long enough to put something together, but from what I saw when he left JC that this is a very questionable hire. Quite honestly not sure why Ross would even want to try to build a program at Rose Hill other than this is proof that he does love the Kids.

Amusing article. I guess the city boys of PRP had plenty to say during the game and had no respect for the Country Boys. Too bad it couldnt have ended the other way. Kinda amusing too that the only good thing that the PRP coach could have said too was that "We had our chance to put them away and they kept us from that".
