Ross out at Rose Hill

Featured Replies

I've heard from a great source that Bill Tom Ross has resigned as the football coach at Rose Hill due to lack of interest from the student body. What does this mean for the football program at Rose Hill? It sure seems to me that this could pretty much kill any plans Rose Hill has for fielding a varsity football team. Why the lack of interest all of a sudden?

Like sands through the hourglass, so are the days.................nevermind.

I wonder if it was for health reasons, or other.

Wow! I had not heard anything about this. There is no doubt that this is a major set back for RH, hopefully they can continue to work for a football program.

I was worried about Coach Ross's health in undertaking this job but had no idea that this would be the case at RH. Hopefully someone can further inform us on this situation.

Nope, from what I was told it was because only a few people showed up for practice.

How many students are there at Rose Hill, anyways?

Last I heard, 340ish.

That's total enrollment K-12 I assume.

Alright, I was just curious. That should be enough to field a football team.

I have spoke to Coach Ross several times about the Rose Hill program, and he was very excited and very sure that his health would allow him to coach again. If he is out, it is for another reason. I will contact him and find out.

He knew when he took the job it was going to be an up hill battle, but he was optimistic. But, I know Coach Ross, and I know if he can't do things the right way, he will not attempt to do it at all. He has high standards and will not allow anyone to compromise them.

Rickyp would be the guy to confirm that, but as I understand it, yes,,,K-12.

Mr. Wildcat has stated twice now that it was due to lack of interest. I'm not sure why everyone can't take his word for it.

Thank you. As I have said twice already, Coach Ross' health had absolutely nothing to do with his decision.

Mr. Wildcat has stated twice now that it was due to lack of interest. I'm not sure why everyone can't take his word for it.

I believe what Mr. Wildcat said, I wasn't questioning his information, I am just concerned for Coach Ross. I know he was very excited about this opportunity. I was, more or less, agreeing with Mr. Wildcat, in saying that he if he quit, I don't think it was for health reasons.

I know Coach Ross's health issues where improving, he was more motivated to do well in physical therapy because he knew he had to in order to coach.

I think Coach Ross leaving for lack of participation, will spell doom of Rose Hill's program, because if that is the reason for him leaving, the word will be out, and getting a quality, experienced coach will be impossible.
