Did he coach last year? What has he done to prepare himself to lead a program that needs to be rebuilt? Any experience implementing a weight program? Knowing that Owen County wants to build their program, watching them hire someone with no experience building a program is baffling.
Sorry, but you shouldn't be allowed to live with whoever you want just so you can be on a good team. That's exactly what this is. If he wants to reap the benefits of playing at a school for 3 years with a D1 player and a bunch of local boys he should also take the beatings they have coming now that his buddy is gone.
I know exactly what the situation was. They told the story that it was to dangerous to live where they were and the coach was a father figure and he would be better off living with him. Funny how that changes the instant his running mate is gone.
He will. But the person he's living with won't. Usually an adult needs to have a change of address. Otherwise kids would just live with whoever so they could play where they want.
Sloan is gone. Heard he and Gatewood has some disagreements and he decided he missed his family.
I question how he will be eligible. How is this any different than a kid moving in with his mom or dad when the parents were separated (which we've seen denied before)? Sloan becoming eligible would be one of the biggest farces for the KHSAA in my opinion.
Maybe not academic wise, but when I look at Christian County I see athletes. When I look at Henderson County...not so much.
Also remember, Lovelace is the AD as well. Probably would be a pay cut to move to Henderson.
He didn't make the overall finals, just the finals in Atlanta. He was chosen over multiple guys committed to BCS schools who have 15-20+ D1/BCS offers. He still has another regional he can attend in Columbus and earn an invite to Oregon.
Because they have more players would be my guess. Some teams, not many, could split their freshman and/or JV teams in half and play a full schedule. It limits development for those kids.
If you mean cut players loose that aren't committed and doing what there supposed to do, everyone does that (or should). If you mean cut players that aren't good enough, I'd say your source isn't very good.
Why doesn't the community rally at the board meetings until the Superintendent is shown the door? Show you won't vote for board members to be re-elected and things can change.
