In my opinion, this game was won on the line. Mayfield is starting some really young guys on the line, and their youth showed in this game. I cant recount the number of times Trajan was hit as soon as he touched the ball...even so, we still should have won the game. The taunting call was huge...and our guy deserved the penalty. Also, our QB was not as efficient as he normally is...too many missed or batted down throws. Big win for the Mustangs.

Wow, my thoughts exactly.

I encourage you to venture out from the princeton area, and ask that question again. Since 2010, Mayfield leads the entire state of Kentucky in wins, with 71, and winning percentage...which stands right now at 94.7% (71-4) Caldwell, in the same 5 years, has won only 46 games (18 losses)...which is a winning % of 71.9... Murray has a better winning percentage than Caldwell (76.5)...im just saying that you are asking the wrong people. (all stats are from khsaa.org)

You don't beat a team by 50+ pts in the regular season, and then lose to the same team by over 3 touchdowns in the playoffs...it just doesn't happen... Unless you are Pikeville. Tough loss.

Neither in my opinion...Mayfield is playing AT Russelville. If Mayfield wins in a close one...they win. Its not like Russelville is an unknown...they've been good for years. I just dont think you should start rewarding teams for just keeping it close. You want to move up? win the game.

Game was played in under 2 hours....running clock most of second half. Understandably, the Cardinals didn't come out with a lot of passion...3 and out on our first series, but definitely took care of business. Defense was great, as usual. A very "workmanlike" victory.

Paducah Sun has Bright with 127 yards rushing on his own...so I don't think Mayfield only had 120 yards as a team. Still, it was difficult for either team to get into any kind of flow with all the flags flying.

The only thing we have to compare with is the scrimmage against Milan for the 2014 squad....and I think, at this point, the 2013 team would win simply because that team had more experience at some key positions. Our new QB looks like he is going to be pretty solid, but at this point, is no match for Luke Guhy. I believe it would be a steady diet of Guhy to Jackson, and most of those would probably go for touchdowns. The 2014 team defensive backs need to really improve as the year progresses or passing teams (Caldwell Co., for instance)will definitely score some points against us. So, right now...2013 team wins
