I agree.

Beechwood deserves the move to #2 right now.

If CCH drops another game though then we can start debating again..especially with Franklin County win not looking as good anymore.Until then you have to give Beechwood the benefit of the doubt

I still think Pikeville is above Beechwood. Beechwood is good' date=' don't get me wrong, but Pikeville is playing very well right now. JMO.[/quote']

Pikeville is everybody in EKYs darling because they beat Belfry. Beechwood just downed CCH, and CCH is a team that would mop the floor of any eastern kentucky team outside of Johnson Central.

I would keep the Wood at 2. But I guess that's why they play the game!

OK, what will you say if Belfry beats Johnson Central in a few weeks? Pikeville beating Belfry, Belfry beating Johnson Central and Johnson Central likely being better then Covington Catholic.

You do realize Belfry and Johnson Central play every year and the series has been pretty even right?

Up until this year couldn't you say CCH has mopped the floor with Beechwood as well recently? So does that not lend itself that maybe the fly in the ointment is that CCH is the down team?

Pikeville is the real deal this season and they have a sour taste in their mouths after last years loss in the third round. If you guys think they can't play or beat Beechwood, I think you're crazy (not in a bad way). Pikeville is on a vengeance this year and they will beat anyone and everyone in their paths. And many will still say that they beat Belfry without their two best running backs. But they still beat Belfry. Period.

If someone says that then their opinion isn't valid anyway because it has been stated several times that they beat Belfry with their top 3 running threats playing. If they can't research enough facts to know that they probably aren't going to be very credible at ranking the entire class anyway.

I recall a couple people stating that Belfry played without their two best running backs. With or without them, they beat Belfry. Belfry has a program that knows that two people do not make up a team.

Only teams I think has a chance of losing are mayfield( maybe to Russellville) Raceland (maybe to Paintsville or Fairview). But I think all the favorites to win all win and maybe there will be a few surprises in the 2nd or 3rd round.

I'm not ready to move Beechwood ahead of Pikeville yet. Pikeville's win over Belfry was very impressive and I'm going to wait another week on CCH before I would be ready to move Beechwood up. If CCH beats an improving Ryle team I would think about it.

I was only implying JC wouldn't get mopped. Johnson Central, beside their coach, is a nice program who has enough depth wise and talent wise to be competitive in 4a. No where did I say Belfry was or was not better than JC. However I will predict Central will get the W this year against them. I have been wrong before but hey it's what BGP is used for.

Not sure so many agree with you. In fact there was a thread last year saying Beechwood and CCH should not play anymore because of how dominant the colonels were. In the thread description they called it "men among boys".

If Russelville plays Mayfield within 7 or so, does that move Mayfield down or Russelville up or neither? I asked this a couple weeks ago and never got any input. Just curious on some of your thoughts.
