  1. Tennessee has 8 classes...and you can move up. I haven't noticed those problems here...even when we had a similar playoff system from yours. Very few would choose to move up.
  2. It's 35 in Tennessee in 2nd half...no running clock in 1st half.
  3. It seems to work ok here in TN. There are not many that choose to play up...but some do. As far as balance...you could declare before the teams are divided. The difference wouldn't be significant.
  4. I didn't know he was at PT. I saw him play for PT. They had some great athletes back then. I was actually involved with setting up games they had with Brentwood Academy. Those were some great games.
  5. I don't understand why you can't play up. What is the reasoning behind that?
  6. Union City was pretty good. They lost their first game & won 13 straight. Henry County went 15-0. The game with Knoxville West was a great game. I am very familiar with that area. There were some great teams this year.
  7. Hendersonville had a great year making it to title game. Beech...Station Camp...and Gallatin are all in Sumner County. All have had great teams lately.
  8. I don't think so. It seems college replay is about useless. They mess up most of those now. It slows the game down too much. What makes anyone think any high schools could do any better?
  9. They won the 1a title the year before & the 2a title the year you won. A few calls not going your way just might make you snitty...lol. Looks like you have played 3 times. 1999..2000...2009. TC won in 1999. Mayfield in 2000 & 2009.
  10. 2a. Trousdale 21 - Adamsville 12 4a. Fulton 54 - Giles County 14 6a. Maryville 44 - Hendersonville 7
  11. Two pick sixes after they had cut it to 10-7. All Ensworth after that.
  12. Lost to Oakland 9-3 week before BG game. Avenged that loss in 2nd round. Oakland was undefeated.
  13. Tennessee is about a third larger...that's true. I agree also about the quality teams. There are more good private school teams here. Some of that is due to formation of DII division. Ensworth...Brentwood Academy...and most private schools are very small. Rutherford, Williamson & Blount county schools are always very good. The publics in the metro areas are usually not as good.
  14. I don't think so if BG is your best team. Hard to say if they are. Year in and year out our states are pretty close. This year...Maryville is probably better than any KY team. Ensworth probably is too. Maryville is making their 10th straight appearance in title game.
  15. Didn't see any excuses. They had an early lead...but Maryville is just too strong. Maryville qb 16-18 for 178 & 3 td's.
  16. Them & Ensworth are both tough. Both will be playing for respective titles next week. Ensworth's head coach...along with an assistant are suspended for title game.
  17. How many Florida teams would beat the best Ohio team? Probably many. Mute point for both.
  18. Both sets of fans have said the same thing in that regard. Some on both sides are knowledgable and know that both of these teams are good. It should be a great game. I am a little concerned BG coach said this game means nothing. With a 38 game win streak on the line...I would not have said that publicly. Sad to see Hurd get hurt. He is a beast.
  19. Against I am a Tennessee high school fan...but follow both states. I lived in Paducah when Tilghman was a powerhouse. I have kept up with ky ever since. This should be a fun game.
  20. Could be...but Blackman faced Independence with 3 SEC commitments on offense and held them to 6 points. They are huge up front...and have a very athletic secondary. I haven't seen BG...so I can't say how they match up. Blackman is very physical. Nobody has run on them very well. This should be a good test for BG at the least. If they beat Blackman...they are for real.
  21. I expect Trinity to be ready come playoff time. They always are.
  22. Did you look at title game score against that same Baylor team?
