I would have liked Ensworth's chances against them that year. They were tough.

Oakland beat Baylor 36-7 too. But...going all the way to Chattanooga to play at McCallie is tough too. It is an interesting matchup to say the least. Both want to come out of this game with no injuries. Both have a lot to play for...I think. Anytime you play an out of state power...there is a pride factor.

Since McCallie is 3-6...I think you are right. They play a killer schedule. You are also right about Blackman's district. Some of those teams like Riverdale are down somewhat this year...but still pretty good.

I think Blackman has a very good defense. Can they slow down a very good offense? I also think Blackman will score. Should be a fun game to watch.

They didn't beat the best in TN. BA & MBA were very good teams...but didn't win a title.

I wouldn't say they haven't played anyone. Independence has 3 SEC commitments. Smyrna is a very tough rival. Oakland is a favorite to win the 6a title. Blackman is much better than St. X & McCallie.

Smyrna was ranked #9 in 6a....Blackman is #3. They both play killer schedules. BG came from behind to beat 3-5 McCallie....hardly impressive.

Should be a fun game between Bowling Green & Blackman. I do think the Oakland game in week 9 will tell how good Blackman is. The BG game could have playoff implications for Blackman.

They are very good....ranked #1 in 4a. Averaging over 58 points a game. Defense is stout too. Speed all over the field.

Very athletic...QB- Jauan Jennings (Several D-1 Offers, mainly SEC schools), TB's- Charlie Davidson and Cole Notgrass; Both run hard and pound the ball inside the tackles. Defense doesnt really have one guy that stands out but it is a very solid unit . Oakland beat Baylor last week 31-7. Baylor beat McCallie 36-14. Comparative scores don't mean that much...but it does get my attention. Nobody has really challenged either. They play the week before you play them.

Good win for Belfry with their injuries. CAK is not near the team of last 2 years. They are 2-5... and played without their starting qb due to suspension.

Blackman will be the best team BG will face this year. They are currently 7-0 in probably the toughest public school district in TN. They play Oakland in week 9. Both are undefeated.

Oakland plays a killer schedule in one of the toughest districts in the country (rated #8 by rivals). Their only loss was to crosstown rival Blackman by 3. They defeated one of the better DII private schools in Ensworth. They are rated #5 in 6a in the AP poll. They were #1 before the loss to Blackman. It should be an interesting game.

That is true...but there is a 1.8 multiplier for private schools playing in the public division in TN. CPA would probably be in 1A in KY.

Alcoa is absolutely loaded this year. I don't see anyone beating them including Maryville.

Lol...Alcoa may very well have at least the best public school team in TN this year. They drilled Maryville which is playing for the 6a title tonight. MUS won the DII title. They have a case to be the best over all. Milan played Alcoa tough...but turnovers were the difference. Milan had 2 inside their own 10. Alcoa did not complete a single pass...didn't have to.

To whomever is interested...Alcoa just won their 6th state title in a row beating Milan 21-0.

I don't think they are near as good as those teams were. They don't have a T.T. Harper...or Wesley Satterfield. I would think the game should be pretty even going in.

I think Trousdale is every bit as good as last year. Macon has a new coach...is doing a very good job. Macon scored most of those points after TC built a big lead...and pulled their starters. Depth is a problem...because they put their starters back in after 3 quick scores. I don't think that will matter much...because they don't play a lot of players anway.

Actually...it was 20-13. Maryville always loses a lot of players. Good luck to Bell...Alcoa has a way of making good teams look bad.

CPA is a class program. I know several affiliated with the school. This act does not surprise me.
