  1. Both are very well coached and very well disciplined. I used to live in Paducah...and saw Mayfield several times. Trousdale is very likely the best conditioned team in TN. They do have size...and they do have good speed. They don't throw much...but when they do...they are successful. Trousdale is not in 1a this year. They moved up to 2a as TN went to 6 public classes. They are close in size to Mayfield.
  2. I wouldn't say Alcoa is Tennessee's best...but they definitely could play with anyone. It will be intetesting to see how they do against county rival Maryville this week. They have lost about 7 in a row to them.
  3. Trousdale has a good team...but they are nowhere near the 9th best team in Tennessee...nor is Milan.
  4. Tennessee allows 8th graders to play for schools that are under the same principal. That usually includes very small publics and privates. Most schools have separate middle schools.
  5. Maryville TN also lost in the 4a title game. They had won 74 straight.
  6. Nah...you wouldn't hear a peep if the roles were reversed.
  7. You can say that about any other contender too.
  8. Nah...it's beginning to look like more than 50.
  9. UT has too much depth. UK will play hard at Rupp. If Lofton breaks out of his slump...it will be ugly. If not...it will be UT by less than 10.
  10. What is the SEEK formula? I haven't heard of that.
  11. Please explain school tax in Ky. I used to live there several years ago. I remember paying school taxes on just about every utility bill. Is that the only school tax...or is there more taxes earmarked for schools? Also...is the personal property tax still assessed on vehicles at 1% of NADA value? We have the same issues with independent schools here in TN. Alcoa has won the 2a state title the last 4 years. Maryville has won 60 games in a row in 4a. Both are independent schools a few miles apart in Blount County. They both charge tuition for out of zone kids.
  12. Kayci Ferriss is a legitimate 6'8". She just scored her 1003rd point is this tournament. She is a soph and was a Miss Basketball finalist in her freshman year last year. She averaged 25 ppg 12 rb and 6 blocked shots despite being double and triple teamed all season.
  13. Tennessee's multipler is 1.8. It is interesting to read this forum. I live in Tennessee...and some of the same things you are posting are the same things we are posting. It seems this controversy is being debated all over the country. You all have some of the same problems we do...but they are somewhat different too. We don't have as many huge Catholic schools as you do. We have the smaller college prep schools such as Brentwood Academy and MBA. We also have the boarding schools such as Chattanooga Baylor and Chattanooga McCallie. I am somewhat familiar with Ky. too since I lived there for several years.
