Final.

CPA may be the best team LCA plays all year...if they had a REAL strong RB - other than their QB - they would be unstoppable. The QB made a couple of bad decisions - not even under much pressure - and threw 2 INT's - other than that, he played very well...nice ball club and well-coached too - huge WR's - 6'3", 6'4" & 6'5"...

I posted early in the week that those receivers were pretty big and had good hands. CPA QB is solid all they lack is a RB. Well, I guess CPA has some pretty good bragging rights; beating two defending KY state champs in consecutive weeks. I was cheering for LCA to get it done tonight.

What size school is the team from Tenn?? Would they be considered 1a,2a, or what??

That doesnt make our state look good at all

Congrats to Coach Matthews and the CPA Lions. They are a class act like none other. Always giving encouraging words after the game win or lose.

Action Dan, you're right.....CPA beasts up on two Kentucky state champs, that's a blemish for Kentucky football.

Tennesse has a differant system for classes, but they are the same as a 1A school

Tennessee has 6 public division classes and CPA is in 3A.

Very true, but this years Fort Campbell and LCA teams are far from last year's teams.

I talked with the players before the game and from what they told me they only have about 300 kids in their highschool.

But both teams beat CPA last year when they were state champions ... Fort Campbell beat CPA convincingly.

LCA is down significantly from last season. Still they will okay in class A. I will guess and say they may take a few lumps with their pre-district schedule.

On the bright side, Scout McCamy completed the most beautiful pass to Chad Snyder early in the 3rd Qtr. Snyder got 5 yds behind the defender & Scout hit him perfectly in stride for a 78 yd. TD pass. Snyder has got some wheels; no one made up any distance with him.

Unfortunately, the offense sputtered too frequently; giving up the football on turnovers, or Scout being forced to scramble for his life. (that happened with regularity last year as well, but Lucas Witt had the benefit of 3+ years of starting experience to help him avoid trouble). LCA's offense should be able to correct these miscues, as both the line & the skill players gain more experience. It's only the first game, and Coach Graham will, no doubt, help them learn from the experience.

On the defensive side I was much more encouraged. The D-line looked great. They put a lot of pressure on the QB, and had him scrambling more than I'm used to seeing them do. The front 3 looked impressive: Zach West, Zach's brother Josh West & Neal Whitman are formidable. When the "runt" of the 3 is 200 lbs. & fast, powerful & experienced, you know things look good on the line.

The LBs & DBs have a ton of experience, & looked really good. Clay Mossbarger was all over the field, and almost took a CPA receiver's head off with a killer hit. This year it will be our defense that wins games for us. The offense should have plenty of time to gell as the season progresses.

If these guys keep focused (& I'm sure they will be) the sky is the limit.

I'm sure friday will be the start of a new winning streak! :ylsuper::ylsuper:

That is true...but there is a 1.8 multiplier for private schools playing in the public division in TN. CPA would probably be in 1A in KY.
