Congratulations to Dale and Mike! Unbelievable successful coaches, and both are great guys who kid's absolutely love playing for. They are very different personalities, but both of these guys were exactly the same in terms of work ethic. I was fortunate to have been on Mike's staff for his 1st 2 State Championships. Mike watched film every waking hour to prepare for every opponent. It didn't matter if we were playing Ludlow, or Pikville.....Mike prepared each week like it was the last game he would ever coach. But, the best part was always his pre-game talks to the players. All of us as coaches would make sure we didn't miss his inspiring words week after week. If Mike Yeagle was still coaching, his record would be crazy. To be honest, I always thought he would go on to college much like Kerry Combs. He would be one of best recruiters in America. I am so grateful for my experience with Mike. Just being on his staff gave me the opportunity to be a head coach. Great guy and very well deserved.

Please, "make it stop." Are you kidding? In 8 years as the HC at Beechwood, they have won 84 games. That staff has averaged 10 plus wins a year. They have won 2 state championships. In Coach Rash's 8 years, they have played 13 or more games every year except his first year when they lost week 12. That is an incredible 8 years for everyone associated with BW football. Yes, BW has great kids who work extremely hard. But, do not underestimate the job those coaches are doing. They don't deserve what is being written on here, but quite frankly, I'm confident that they don't care what a couple "disgruntled" people say anonymously on this message board. Congratulations to Beechwood Football for another great year. You don't have to finish your season in Bowling Green to have a successful season. You all have what every other community wants. A Football Program that is supported and valued by the Administration, Faculty, Students, & Community. Keep up the great work.

Jaws, I appreciate your opinion. And I'd much rather you attack me publicly than our players. I'm in a position that this comes with it. A couple points to defend our program. Practices are great and the kids are working hard. They are learning the game and most of them are "all in" emotionally and physically. It's hard to see from the outside because we are playing in what I believe is one of the toughest districts in the state. Conner, Cooper, South Oldham , and Scott are very good this year. One of our coaches has restructured the youth program and they are doing incredible things and are moving forward. Our JV team is doing well. Plus the fact that we are starting several sophomores and a couple freshman on Friday nights. ( last night 2 freshman & 8 Sophs) It may appear from the outside that's there's not much positive progress going on, but I can assure you that's not the case. As far as personal attacks on me and missing 30 days of school and being late for practices--thats ridiculous and completely false. We had a great offseason that our coaching staff committed to being at school 3 or 4 days a week from Dec 3 to Aug. Our kids are working hard and learning the game. They are also experiencing all the great things that football teaches them about becoming a successful human being when they leave high school. I'll leave it at that. That's all I'm going to say on here because our kids really know the great things going on and how much we care about their development as a player and person. Go Braves. Siple.

Jaws, maybe you should coach since you know so much about the football program. You were probably the one in the bleachers tonight screaming all the negative comments at 15 and 16 year olds. It's really productive for the school and the kids for you to get on this message board and refer to all of our efforts as "a joke." Building a program takes a lot of time and patience. It also takes a community to be loyal and supportive during the process. The kids and coaches are frustrated too, and trying to fight through the adversity with class and character. Awesome. I loved watching that kid play. He plays the game for the right reasons. Always smiling and seemed to love the game. I'm thrilled for him, even though he killed us last year.

Did Caleb Leach sign with anyone? I thought he was very good.

In order of possibility of beating four who BC lost to in 2011: Betsy Lane, Pendleton, Eminence, Frankfort. Of the other 6 games, the possibility of BC beating them, IMO, is the following: Knott Co Central, Fayetteville, Paris, Brossart, Dayton, & South Floyd. The same system with all ten games in 2012 are: Knott Co. Central, Fayetteville, Paris, Brossart, Betsy Lane, Dayton, Pendleton, Eminence, South Floyd, & Frankfort.

Same as last year but opposite sites. Only change is Brossart instead of Manchester OH.

The PolarBears will be better this year. The complete off.line returns, a 1000 yd rusher returns, best receiver returns, 2 all district LB's return, plus they all went thru an off season weight program that will make a big difference. My prediction, 8 - 2.

I know its not exactly Northern Ky, but right down AA Highway, Bracken Co. has a really nice young QB. Sophomore Cole McClain led the Polar Bears to their first ever winning season. He rushed for almost 1400 yards, and threw for like 975 yards. He rushed for 20 something TD's and threw another 10 TD's. This kid is a great athlete. He had 4 interceptions, and returned a couple punts for TD's. And he is only a sophomore.

Dave Brossart would do a great job. Thinking nothing would change is ridiculous. From coaching with Dave, I can tell ya exactly what you get with DB as ur HC. First Dave will bring an attitude of intensity, toughness, incredible work ethic, and a level of "nastiness" that is often necessary in football. Dixie will have the most well coached lineman they have ever had. The weight program will be well organized and very intense. Dave is a tough, hard working guy from Covington.His passion in life is to do "whatever it takes" to help young people get better. I can tell you with absolute 100% certainty-if Dixie's kids are willing to work harder than they have ever worked, Dave Brossart would have an immediate impact on a program that is already established. I think Tom Spritsky is a great high school coach. The program is in great shape. But, DB will have a very DIFFERENT approach to how things are done. If kids "buy in", people would compare their work ethic to what is going on in Ft. Thomas. If they don't buy in, it doesn't matter who you hire. From coaching with Dave Brossart, I can promise you, the players will love his passion, love his work ethic, and will see everyday a gentleman who always model what is good in life. The players will become very close to Dave. He will push them very hard and demand their best effort, they will know he cares about them.

I bet if you listed every starting qb at highlands since 1965, most of them only got one year to start. With the junior football league in place, there are 4 or 5 quaterbacks that are getting a chance to develop every year. I know when i came out of junior fb, I had to compete with 5 guys to play qb on the freshman team--and all of them were good. And that same example is true for every position on the field. And that is why Highlands very rarely has a "down" year.

I noticed Frankfort's coach was very much interested in running up the score. He faked an xtra point to make the score 62-6. Also was sending his guys after every punt all thru 4th quarter. Anyone know if there's bad blood or does the hc have a history of this kind of thing.

This is great news for the kids in the program. They are going to finally get the coaching they deserve. Roy and Jeff are great coaches with a lot of experience. More importantly, they are "men of character". Kids will be treated with respect and coached like we all want our own kids to be coached. They will not be cussed at or called names. I bet coaches wont be dipping on the sideline like in the past. I bet the kids will learn how to watch film. Congrats Camels! You deserve it. If last years seniors would have had this staff, who knows how far they could've gone. No disrespect to Coach Styer. He just didn't have the help he needed.

Bracken Co football is looking for two coaches at lower level. They are looking for "child centered", positive, coaches who are willing to learn their system and be high energy role models. Experience preferred, but they can work with guys that are "team players" & passionate about having a positive influence on young people. Private message me for details.

I have heard a lot of good things about their. Coach. Is there any chance he is staying to teach, or will he move his family to a new school system? Sure would be nice for new guy to have a 2 year starter return at QB. Wonder if there is another QB in the school that is capable.
