  1. I can't believe how far off most of you are on this answer....Both schools happen to be located in the two most populated areas of KY....and they also happen to closely border other states....They recruit, of course, but they don't have to put a lot of effort into their recruiting. The best of the best go to these schools to win a state championship and to be seen by Div. 1 recruiters...I don't blame them....Had I had that option in high school I would have chosen to go and win a state championship as well...Until KY creates a super class and places these types of schools into that class...This is how big school football in KY will be...
  2. Tyler Jackson looked absolutely fantastic during this tournament...I would hate to face East Carter right now!
  3. Richard Fraley and David Manning are both on staff at East Carter High School. I believe David Manning will be the Defensive Coordinator this next season.
  4. Don't forget East Carter in all this common opponent talk...The Raiders play Russell, Fairview, Raceland, Greenup, and Boyd County...just thought that East might like to get in on this mythical championship!
  5. You can't seriously think Russell is better than East defensively!!! I would say the 2 best defensive teams are playing each other in the first game of the tournament!!!
  6. Whew!!!! Upper bracket is LOADED!!! 78-27 W-L record according to KHSAA scoreboards! Lower bracket is 57-51.
  7. Schools NEVER have to honor coaches cards at anytime, it is simply a COURTESY
  8. And while we are talking about the EKC, Tim Carper, assistant commish has more integrity in his little finger than most people have in their entire body. When it comes to high school athletics, he is THE MAN!! Nobody and I mean nobody cares more about the high school athlete than Tim Carper
  9. Don't remember exactly who either team played the first 2 games but you are right on both counts, I do remember Valley had much more depth and had 2 easier games than Ashland, plus, if remember correctly, Ashland had to play the last game Friday night also.
  10. I was there and watched all of both teams games, Ashland almost won anyway but they looked like they were playing in a swimming pool full of water about chest deep and Valley was bouncing all over the place. Ashland was the much better team, along with the talent they had they were one of the most disciplined and fundamentally sound teams I have ever seen.
  11. I understand that East did argue that the Commodore Classic was a 2 day event and shouldn't count but did not provide any false information as SOME people said, the KHSAA made the ruling after looking at schedules and later (and correctly I might add) reversed the ruling. Why would Morgan be any more mad at East than East would be with them. I've heard the AD's met and talked it over with no hard feelings either way.
  12. You are partially correct. East argued that the Commodore Classic was a 2 day event and shouldn't count but did not provide any false information as earlier reported but the KHSAA made the ruling then (correctly I might add), reversed the ruling after further information. Why would that make Morgan any more at East than East would be at them?
  13. Yes, Jeff Lamp, Lee Raker and Co. took home the title that night. Ashland was obviously very good that year but not real deep, to take nothing away from Valley but it was pretty clear right from the start of that game that Ashland had no legs left. If Valley and Ashland had played 10 times that year with both being rested I'd say Ashland probably would have won 8-9 of them. And trust me, Ashland's guards were very good and VERY fundamentally sound, they would've handled Elliott's pressure easily. It would be a good game but with Kovach and Harkins inside I'd have to say Ashland probably would've won. They were VERY good defensively and VERY patient offensively.
  14. It took 3 votes to put seeding in that year and it will take 3 votes to take it out, so East or West one would have to vote to take it out. Why would Morgan be unhappy with East????????????
  15. I am not a Tomcat fan but I do know they lost to Louisville VALLEY in the semifinals that year, not Ballard, I was at the game.
  16. Coach Perry at West Carter has already announced that she is retiring at the end of the year from coaching and teaching both.
  17. No one should have to post any email to "clear" up East Carter's name...To imply that somehow the principal, athletic director, or basketball coach at East Carter would lie, so as to avoid playing another team, or to improve their chances of advancement is below petty, and I feel should call for a ban from BGP...Their should never be a copy of something to placate neanderthals like yourselves who bottom feed for any info to feed your incredible amounts of jealousy and hate...Some of YOU are the reason that sportsmanship has died....Not coaches trying to better the situations of their players. Go Raiders! Good luck Coach Baker against who ever you play, you, regardless of what is said on here are one classy individual and I am glad you represent all of us Raiders!
  18. If Morgan wins tonight they get the #2 seed, not the #3 seed. If they lose they COULD drop all the way to #4.
  19. C'mon guys, lighten up!!! Manuel lost by 23 to Montgomery tonight, does that mean they're not a top ten team either???? If those stats are correct about the 15-22 on 3's they beat ANYBODY in the state by 25-30, not just Rowan Co., a really good team on a very hot night and you guys are pounding Rowan Co. and the 16th region into the ground??? Back off!!!
  20. No rule in basketball, in football and soccer if 7th-8th graders are playing in the JV game they are not allowed to play against Juniors or Seniors.
  21. Only rule on that is schools cannot schedule 4 straight days on Mon.-Thurs., they must take 1 of these off.
  22. That has been said MANY times that Chapman really wanted to go to Lousiville and was pressured into going to UK, by WHO no one really knows, maybe it was EMORY, and I'm a UK fan.
