To put an end to the thought of Mason running the score up, Coach Simms thanked the Mason coaching staff for playing the bench which consisted of 3 freshmen that were moved up last night. A lot of players that have seen little or no action received plenty of PT last night.

I will go with Brossart, they received the best possible draw in that packed upper bracket. St. Patrick is playing well but will have to win three pretty tough games to make it to the championship game. Brossart was upended by both Deming and St. Patrick a week ago by a total of 3 points. St. Patrick will have to expend a great deal of energy and win 4 games. Not saying this can't be done, but will be difficult, plus they play the host school opening night and that will be difficult within itself.

The concession stand at Augusta is top notch and those that head it up take great pride in maintaining. Its like visiting a Sams Club and eating samples from what they have to offer. I know those that are associated with Augusta are satisfied:D

I would say the games will be played as scheduled for Thursday night.

.....but freshmen ball means nothing...its a building block....that is all A building block is very important to the success of a program down the road, the more kids play, the better they are. You can't replace game experience no matter what level it is played on. You can have your opinion, but my thoughts are if one is going to make this statement, they must not of had the oppotunity to play the game or play at a level where it mattered. Every year you play is important to the programs success as well as the development of the players. I will tell you this also, I follow basketball at all levels, and I am not a parent, just a basketball fan who likes to watch the success of kids.

So they honor season passes for the MCIT? Regardless I was hoping you could give updates on BGP.

Exactly and a great post. Mason County doesn't beat Mt. Vernon unless it hits foul shots down the stretch. You don't get to the line without attacking the basket, working the ball inside. I believe there will be some people that will be eating words as the season goes by. I think you will see this Mason team on a mission from this day on.

Mason County by at least 40.

This loss will do Mason County a lot of good in the fact that the loss is to a great opponent and also to a in state team. If one wants to continue to find a positive from this loss, its still in December and not late February and early March. This teams focus will benefit from the loss, their rest is important, and getting back to a regular routine once school starts back will be all factors that will do this excellent basketball team in Mason County a lot of good. Lexington Catholic is a great basketball team, the battles that these two programs have went through head to head against one another is what makes high school basketball in the state of Kentucky special. I feel for Pendleton County come Wednesday night in the opener of the MCIT, these Royals will be hungry.

Point guard was outfor Ryle. Carver was playing on a bum ankle for Mason.

That has to be a good showing for the girls from Mason County.

Mason County defeated Ryle in the finals 47 to 35. Jordan Gilbert led the Royals with 18 followed by Treg Setty with 14. The Royals stand on the season at 10 and 1.

As a leader, you take your losses the same way you take your wins with respect towards the opponent. This act doesn't teach kids the right thing in my opinion.
