Absolutely correct, Montgomery County is the top dog until someone knocks them off in the region. Looks like Montgomery County can play a great deal of defense to hold a Paris team to only 29 points and still win by 32. That is an amazing stat.

Mason County beat Fleming County last night by a score of 52-32.

^Big Macs didn't seem to slow us down any, we represented in the Sweet 16 that season. Not sure about your rule issue there, nor 20 years later would it matter.

We ran a charge drill from different points of the floor everyday for 5 minutes back when I played and it carried over to the game. Incentives were given to players who took charges in the form of coupons to McDonalds for however many charges they took in a game, was how many Big Macs they would get after the game. We had some good actors on the team, I would have thought I would have seen a couple out in Hollywood today.

Thanks Sunrise....food for thought, your freshmen will be playing against a lot of older and more experience kids througout the year. Of course one freshmen has had great deal of varsity experience in Stenzel. Playing against skilled and more experienced players will never hurt, maybe a little in present time but should pay off down the road.

Being told you suck is nothing compared to what I have heard 10 to 15 years ago and even further back. If that was the only thing I was told playing today in relation to what I have heard years ago, I would probably not pay too much attention to it. I agree coaches need to set an example, but when I played and a coach got on me and said things I can't type on here, I took it in a way that at least coach notices me, whether its bad or good on the court. Its when coaches don't say a thing to a player is when he or she better start to get concerned.

East Carter was preseason 1, followed by Rowan County and Ashland to secure the top 3 spots according to Cats Pause.

What does a team like Bracken County have to do to climb back into the top 8? They were considered by many as a preseason top 5 or 6.

With the likes of Benzinger and Tibbs back, the scheme of things defensively for Bracken has got to change. Could there be a high post, low post combination happening in the offense?

I agree that the assist need to be mentioned along with who gets points. I was recently at a girls game and seen a stat sheet that the official stat keeper had The stat sheet read the winning team with 84 points, the winning team with 1 assist. That my friends is ridiculous stat keeping.

If Bracken plays zone, they have a chance because Scott without Benzinger doesn't shoot it well from the outside. Look for a low scoring affair if both teams play zone. If Tibbs and Benzinger are back in the lineup, the scheme changes totally.b

There is a great deal of talent over at Bracken County. Young talent, most of which are sophomores and juniors. These kids have endured success playing with one another over the years. Agree that these players need to log minutes, keep in mind that its at a different level now for most of these girls against varsity competition. I am a firm believer that in order to succeed, you must go through some bumps along the way and it won't hurt to expose these ladies to some rough situations.

This St. Patrick team is a fun team to watch, they play hard, get after you on defense, and well coached. Owens moves into 4th place tonight in the all time scoring list in Saints land. Owens is a nice player on both sides of the ball and has a good supporting cast around him. This team could go deep in the All A 10th.

Wow! I know its tough to go on the road and win in the 10th region, but gosh this pill has to be hard to swallow. That is two straight losses that are lopsided for Bracken County this week. This one I totally didn't see coming.

I am a great supporter of MCHS and 10th Region basketball, I just didn't know what the administration being in Chicago had to do with letting the Cov Cath Crazies into the game free Friday night?

I am picking Bracken on this one, I believe that if Ahrens is fed the ball down low, she will have a field day if she finishes. Bracken has to do a good job of breaking the press. Brossart is deliberate on offense and likes to kind of lull you to sleep, the half court defense has to be exceptional.

I don't think its a little out of character, I think its a deal the two schools struck and a awful good one. What does the the MC administrative staff in Chicago have to do with this?

In the Mt. Dew shootout, the two games Mason County played, they hit for 86 points. 26 of those points came from the bench players. A big difference in contribution from the past few years. As far as using a bench at the end of the quarters, that is how you sometimes use a bench, run a rotation to spell your starters some breathers. They played 9 players in the shootout, all 9 scored, played at least 10 minutes.
