Mason County is a tough team to beat when they get 4 players in double digits in scoring. Menke has had two nice games and has provided the scoring that Mason will need come post season. If that 5th player could knock down 8-10 points a game, this team would be tough to beat. Congrats to the Lady Royals. Tough matchup against Highlands tonight. Highlands shoots the ball very well, patient on offense, and gave Montgomery County last weekend all they wanted until the final four minutes of the ballgame. A nice game for the Lady Royals to play heading into February. You always get better playing tough teams, especially this time of the year.

Obviously you had to find a reason to post as neither of the two were factors in the game yet for some reason its important to bring up Hargett, oh I mean Holleran who scored 2 points and Cribbs which should be Krebs. Everyone makes a mistake, yet I can't understand why it has to be made a point of emphasis in a post? Why can't the emphasis and credit be given to two teams that played their hearts out, emphasis on St. Patricks defense fueling a 2nd half push instead of a player that scores 2 points in the scoring column whos name was mistaken for another and another player whos name was mispelled:confused:

I agree it was an exciting game, I thought St. Patrick stepped their defense up in the fourth quarter, didn't play any defense the first 3 quarters. If they would run that intensity all 4 quarters they would be even better than they already are. St. Patrick basically played 6 on 4 in the 4th quarter. The 6th man was the ball handler from Deming who turned it over 3 straight times that resulted into layups. I can't for the life of me figure out why one of the King brothers was not asked to bring the ball up against the Saints press. They are the better free throw shooters, the go to guys on the Black Devil team. Congrats to the Saints!

It was the only shot the kid had, pretty good defense caused this, he caught the ball inside the 3 point line, the defense prevented him from floating outside the line. Too much emphasis is being put on this particular play and not enough on how much of a comeback the Saints had to pull this one out. Try the 4 straight turnovers by Deming that led to layups by St. Patrick as the emphasis to understand.

Flip flop Stenzel and Owens and the list looks pretty good.

This will be another close game, if St. Pat starts out of the gate slow like against Deming, it could be a long night. Both games this season where these two have hooked up its been St. Patrick out of the gate on the hot start and Augusta has played them evenly or outscored the Saints after the first quarter for the rest of the game in both contests. It should be a fun night, atmosphere should be awesome when these two go head to head for a date in the semifinals.

The Mason County freshman ran their record to 14 and 1 on the season with a 61 to 43 victory over homestanding Bourbon County. Treg Setty led the Royals with 19, he was followed in double figures by Neal Pawsat and Jeris Carver with 16 points apiece. The freshman are in action at the Fieldhouse on Thursday night versus Montgomery County at 6pm.

Not complaining, simply stating what I seen and more than just fans go to the tournament. Simply a observation that I thought I would share.

They better be better prepared in the hospitality room than they were today. First game at 11am, at noon the room was not setup completely and by the 5:30 game was complete, the food was gone. That might be one of the questions for advice or support that supposedly Mason could help if the folks from Montgomery come asking, which I doubt.

Taylor Stewart I believe is the glue to the Lexington Catholic team. Heady player, great shooter, and a coaches dream to have a kid like that on the floor.

Catholics push ahead actually came without the services of Sanford and Novesell on the benchh in the 3rd quarter. Sanford would have helped but actually the push for Catholic came without him.

The dunk in particular by Miller was the momentum boost, but points that Mason could not do without were the 2-3 point baskets by Setty.

The crowds have not been there for the girls games all season, take the band out of the stands and a lot of times the visiting team matches the home team crowd.

The best word to describe the crowd for the girls basketball game was terrible in my opinion.

She ranks close behind Green and Novesel in statistical catergories on the Lady Knights team according to their program that was passed out at the Lexington Catholic Holiday Classic over the Christmas break.

Congrats to the Lady Bears and staff. Bring a great game plan for Championship Saturday, execute, and surprise the Girls All A 10th. Believe in the game plan, trust it, and leave everything on the floor in between the lines Saturday night and the rest takes care of itself.

I would also like to say something about the attendance tonight at the girls game. It was amazing to see the difference in the crowds from the girls game to the boys game. I think its an injustice to the girls, one that they notice, and one certainly I believe that they don't appreciate. I guess some things just never change and never will.

As bad as Mason hit from the outside, they were still within striking distance throughout the game. As far as the conditioning, its between the ears, mental and something that if they want to accomplish goals in March will have to forget. When your 4 points down to the top ranked team, you don't get tired, you reach down and get something extra.

False, Mason had it down to 4 points early in the 4th quarter. The lead was at 8 at the half, both of which are under the 10 points that you say above. Lex Cath girls are nothing really flashy, just a group of girls that are hard workers on both ends of the court. Hats off to the Lady Knights. As good of a player Green is, she that much better of a person to chat with.

That is absolutely correct and what I was trying to establish here.
