Jealousy And Spite Alive In 10th Region

Recommended Posts

:fire:Jealousy and Spite are the reasons for moving the 10th Regional tournament from Mason County. Why would any one begin to think Montgomery County would want anyones advice on managing the games. They have the best of everything including the pots in the bathrooms. Im sure Sunny should realize they also have several experts on running tournaments there. Home court advantages does not mean a thing unless you have good players. It took Mason County 20 years to make it to the state tournament with their

big home court advantage. Explain that. :fight:

If you combined the seating in those 3 gyms you still would not have enough room.:D:lol:

Alright then let's take it out to the playground and have people bring lawn chairs. No advantages there. If it gets dark parents can pull their cars up and turn on their headlights.

But seriously, couldn't the tourney be taken to another region so you could have true neutrality or is that too hard? The set up of these tournaments are ridiculous anyway with homecourt advantages and no seeding.

Try to hold it at Memorial Collesium maybe?

Jealousy and spite alive in the 10th region?

I can't argue with that....seems like everyone in the 10th region outside of Mt. Sterling and Winchester are jealous of Montgomery County for getting to host this year. :sssh:

I know there is a great deal of history and tradition involved, but couldn't the region just let each district host in a gym of their choice? For example, but not limited to, because I'm not familiar with capacities in some places:

Year 1 - 37th District - Northern Kentucky University

Year 2 - 38th District - Harrison County

Year 3 - 39th District - Mason County Fieldhouse

Year 4 - 40th District - Montgomery County

If more than one school per district has a big gymnasium, then one year School A can host and when the rotation returns, School B can host.

I don't understand the size argument because the Fieldhouse is huge and they have split sessions in the region. Why not just let every district host? Is that too simple?

Why not do like the 11th (EKU) and have it a neutral site? What about NKU or Morehead? Regardless of who has the biggest gym, it doesn't seem fair that the same team has hosted the regional at their home gym for 39 of the last 40 years. Just my opinion....
