MCHS Arena no more, The Palace sounds better

If everyone gets there early that leaves out the teachers, kids an parents who have to travel an hour to get there. Will schools let out school for travel time and the hours it will take to stand in line early to get in the gym? This is already a mess and we are stuck with it this year. One hour on the road and another hour or more in line. We would need to be there as soon as school gets out most places. Maybe we will need some airplanes for the trip to make the 5:30 games. Whats more important school or ballgames. You can not go to school and see the games. Think about it.

As has been stated above, this thread doesn't look good for the 10th region.

 

EVERY school had to take a bit of time and travel to Mason Co. in the past, a lot of people had to get off of work early to attend games at Mason Co., if they didn't then they wouldn't be able to go.

 

Some are comparing moving the 10 region from Mason to Montgomery with moving the Sweet 16 from Rupp to NKU? Are you serious? Apples and Oranges here. For one, Rupp is a Mecca of basketball that is admired by high school players all over the state, they dream about playing at Rupp. Not knocking Mason's gym, I am sure people like playing there, I would say outside of Mason Co. only a handful of players, if that many, would be against the move from Mason. Be careful what you ask for, you may just find out that outside of Mason there isn't many players who care.

 

I don't see people from around the 10th region up in arms over the move, just a SELECT FEW fans of one school which is losing their 39 out of 40 year reign as hosts. Some who are grabbing at anything that they can find to bring up an excuse.

 

As stated above, I know it just a select few from Mason that are complaining and personally I don't see their comments reflect as a whole on the whole county, but I and sure a lot will.

 

Face it, your region is now going to rotate, others want change, Montgomery Co. didn't just say "We are now holding the games at our place", others had to vote on it I suppose, which shows other schools want this as well, not just Montgomery Co. Let it go

Yeah, but when the kids who play in this year's tournament look back the MCHS arena will be the place with historical value to them....

 

Todays kids live in the here and now. Historical sentiment isn't what is used to be. Not to say they don't care, they just have a reasonable perspective and are equipped to move on.
