Unless there is a neutral court such as the 9th will have starting next year, I say let it rotate.

Especially when they already know the venue they have chosen isn't large enough to hold the crowds. It will be the hundreds and thousands of "faithful" 10th region fans who will suffer the most but I believe the schools will also suffer from less revenue shared.

 

If you wish to change the venue which, in my opinion makes no sense, then choose a site that can accomodate the numbers and also provide a more reasonable path to travel. Pick 3 or 4 sites that can provide adequate space and support and let each school in the region have one (1) vote and the majority wins. Couldn't be fairer than that!

So it's right to let the same team have the same home court advantage for 39 of the last 40 years? Who says the gym that it is played at has to be big enough to fit everybody? If your worried about not getting a seat, get there early. Atleast let Montgomery Co. have their shot first... then you can complain since we all know its going to happen.

Sadly, quite the opposite. The Fieldhouse has such good attendance that even the teams that don't make it to region play get a share.

The best facility now is Montgomery Co...not the largest but the best.

 

There will not be a problem with revenue this year either as some has posted. Business in Montgomery Co will be making up the differences if there is any.

They better be better prepared in the hospitality room than they were today. First game at 11am, at noon the room was not setup completely and by the 5:30 game was complete, the food was gone. That might be one of the questions for advice or support that supposedly Mason could help if the folks from Montgomery come asking, which I doubt.

:laugh: How many of the fans get to go to the hospitality room? Now concessions would be a different story. And I doubt that Mason will ask if they need any help...which is sad....I would hope that everyone would want the 10th region to be a success this year. I can see that some don't....already complaining.

Not complaining, simply stating what I seen and more than just fans go to the tournament. Simply a observation that I thought I would share.

I keep hearing that Mt. Sterling businesses will make up the difference. Can somebody name these businesses?

I like what McPapa said in another post, let them have a shot at it.

I saw Mason in the KY Prep Classic and their crowd was average in size. It will be interesting to see if Mason brings the big crowd. It appears their fans are like everyone elses....some will travel and some won't.

 

Several folks from Mason need to get over it....and let it be. What does whining do and furthermore, lets say you are right about the gym.....so what?

Why not do like the 11th (EKU) and have it a neutral site? What about NKU or Morehead? Regardless of who has the biggest gym, it doesn't seem fair that the same team has hosted the regional at their home gym for 39 of the last 40 years. Just my opinion....

:fire:Jealousy and Spite are the reasons for moving the 10th Regional tournament from Mason County. Why would any one begin to think Montgomery County would want anyones advice on managing the games. They have the best of everything including the pots in the bathrooms. Im sure Sunny should realize they also have several experts on running tournaments there. Home court advantages does not mean a thing unless you have good players. It took Mason County 20 years to make it to the state tournament with their

big home court advantage. Explain that. :fight:
