Each school gets a set allotment, and lottery them off if there is going to be this much demand.

 

Otherwise, take lemons and make lemonade. If there are that many Mason fans concerned about being left out, have local cable access set up a video feed of the game to the Fieldhouse and charge folks a couple of bucks to come watch.

:fire:Jealousy and Spite are the reasons for moving the 10th Regional tournament from Mason County. Why would any one begin to think Montgomery County would want anyones advice on managing the games. They have the best of everything including the pots in the bathrooms. Im sure Sunny should realize they also have several experts on running tournaments there. Home court advantages does not mean a thing unless you have good players. It took Mason County 20 years to make it to the state tournament with their

big home court advantage. Explain that. :fight:

:fire:Every one does not get to go to the hospitality room. This room is for coaches, school officials, police, fire & emts, in other words important people. Important to have a lot of food,Mason county sure puts out a real fine spread every night. Nothing cheap there. I have never seen them runout of food or close early. If you are going to do the tourny, do it right. If you are not one of the important people, I guess you can check out the fancy bathrooms and get a hotdog at the great concessions that never have any lines. Won't this be great entertainment if you can get in the gym.:fight:

I thought the entertainment was watching the games.

I have always gone to the games to support the kids and my team...and could care less about the food....usually too nervous to eat anyway. I guess some have different priorities.

I keep hearing that Mt. Sterling businesses will make up the difference. Can somebody name these businesses?

 

I'm sure one of the businesses is The Walker Company. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if they don't make up all the difference by themselves. They are big supporters of athletics in Mt. Sterling

I thought the tournament was all about great basketball and the great fans supporting their team at the 10th region tourney but now it seems to be about the money. I have an idea why dont they take the tickets and split them up between the four teams that are playing on Friday night and the two finalist on Sat. night and the schools that are playing will have the same # of fans with the ability to get into the gym without driving from northern Ky and then being turned away after the hour and a half drive. some people will have to work until 4 or 5 in the afternoon and wont be able to wait in line an hour or 2 or maybe longer. but I do think it's very sad that it's about the money and not about the KIDS. how would you like to be a kid playing in the regional finals and find out you're parents are'nt in the building to watch you play in possibly you're last high school game. that's very sad folks lets all grow up a like and quit acting like babies. it wont be good for the region when the news about the facilities are bigger than the games themselves.

Is the tenth region the only region with this issue?

Hopefully when Clark County opens thier new highschool and it's proposed sports complex we will be able to squash all this arguing and hold the regional at GRC arena the next forty years!:ylsuper:

I saw Mason in the KY Prep Classic and their crowd was average in size. It will be interesting to see if Mason brings the big crowd. It appears their fans are like everyone elses....some will travel and some won't.

 

Several folks from Mason need to get over it....and let it be. What does whining do and furthermore, lets say you are right about the gym.....so what?

Let Mont Co hold the region and let it turn 1500 people away and it will be back at Mason Co.

How large is the proposed GRC complex going to be? Is the Fieldhouse ALWAYS sold out for the Regional tourney?

 

I guess we are really lucky in the 16th. MSU's arena seats 7,500 and I can only remember one ... maybe two.... regional games with near capacity. That and the fact that it is neutral sure makes us spoiled in that sense.
