Coach Salsman had to coach the entire 2nd half from his chair. That would have been tough to do in this one.

And for those who say 'now Mason changes their tune'. Wrong. I didn't change my tune about anything. I feel that way in any sport. I think undefeated is great, but I think a loss or two really helps a team come postseason because they are not all big-headed...the Patriots for example. I don't even go to Mason Co., and I don't care whether or not they win or lose, I was just stating my opinion, thank you very much. (This goes back to the updates thread, no I am not just ranting).

That's my fault thinking you were a Mason fan.

 

But, I know others said they were untouchable in the state of KY. I guess that is not the case. What Scott County did last year not to lose to an in-state team is even more amazing considering Mason certainly seemed like they were definitely the best team this year.

Sorry Kysportsfan, I was kinda ribbin you a bit there with my comment. This game definately was Mason's to lose late and they did just that missing a couple free throws and allowing Lex Cath to get the three point shot off. As for Lex Cath, they are a persistent team that will hurt you if you let up on them. Like I had hoped, this was another good one between these two. Can't wait for the rematch. I really think Mason still will be the favorite but the flipside of this is that with Lex Cath winning they now have proven to themselves that they can play with the top team.

Just having come back from Hawaii and then playing a tough June B, and CovCath on back to back nights, then playing LexCath at LexCath finally did Mason County in. Their hearts and the fire where still there, but bodies and minds get tired after a while.

I didn't think Mason looked good the entire tournament. They seemed to be a bit slower than normal. I think the trip to Hawaii took a bit out of them.

That Scott Co. team was good enough to have lost their best two players this year and still be one of the better teams in the state. I don't think if you took Miller and Setty/Middleton off of Mason or Stewart and Novosel/Smart off of Catholic that the same would be said of these two teams.

Sickening, disgusting and flat out revolting. I would rather lose to any team than this one. :mad:

 

BUT with that said, give credit to Catholic for getting the job done in the 2nd half.

 

Mason Co finishes their marathon road trips 6-2. I figured going into the year, they would lose about 5 games or so, they are on their way. Lose them now and be ready for March.

 

Congrats Royals and thank you for representing the 10th so well. Congrats to the players and coaches for laying it all out there the last two weeks. :thumb:

Can someone closer with the Mason program tell me more about Middleton? What year he is? Who's looking at him on the next level? Just stuff like that. He seem like a solid player from what i've read.
