My understanding is that Lex Cath had travel problems as well returning from Las Vegas on the 21st. Flew out of Vegas at 6:00a to Chicago, connecting flight to Lexington was cancelled, (slept on the floor at O'Hare) they had to wait for a bus that arrived in Chicago at midnight, finally arrived home 7:30a next morning. But the difference was probably the cake walk they had:D

Second, a win is a win and a loss is a loss any way you shake it. The state title is up for grabs. There are a lot of teams that can come out on top.

Mason Co is still a favorite to win the State Tourney. Not only are they a great team, their kids are nothing but class. The rematch at Memorial Coliseum will be worth the price of admission for sure.

I don't have a problem with Mason not calling timeout at the end of regulation. They have the ball in the hands of the "Best Player in the State" and Mr Basketball candiate. The question is why Darius dribbled out the clock and not drive the lane when all of the players were in each corner. Darius settled for a 3 pointer where he is shooting 24% instead of driving the lane where he is shooting 47% and not to mention he is a 80% FT shooter. Darius has to be smarter in that case. Put this on Darius not the coaching staff. But the game should have been over long before that last possession!!!

That first post where it says the Knights did nothing to win this game, he was just being sarcastic there. They played their hearts out, Mason just made it a little easier on them to come back like they did with the way that they played down the stretch.

Was LC actually in Vegas or did they just play a team from Vegas in Florida?? I am figuring their flight from Florida got messed up instead of their flight from Vegas. Either way it makes it tough, and sounds to me like one very tired team, and another tired team who was playing and sleeping at home had an outstanding game with each other, and should have another in about 19 days I think it is.

Easy Rook. You have to remember, we are talking about high school kids here and saying that they choked is very harsh. Players definately read these boards and don't deserve those comments. They know that they had the game in their hands and let it slip away. They will hopefully use this game as fuel for the rest of the season. Losing is not fun.

 

Can't win a close game when the pressure is on??? Did they not just beat a top 20 team in the NATION?? That was a close game and they definately didnt choke there. If I am not mistaken, they beat Lex Cath last year in overtime in one of the two times they played and that wasn't choking either.

 

I do agree that they try to go one on one late in the game instead of trying to run some sort of offense. But if playing zone and taking the three away would beat the Royals every time, they would have more than two losses. They are more than just a 3 point shooting team and showed that in Hawaii when normal 3's weren't falling. If it was that easy to beat them, wouldn't they lose more often?
