Choke, choke, choke. Looked liked regional finals of last year. Can Mason win a close game when the pressure is on? Offensively, nothing but one on one. I can't believe more teams don't play them zone. Extend it out, take away the 3 and they are beat. Mason was winning the rebound margin at halftime, anyone know what 2nd half rebounding stats were?

 

Well, I believe in Hawaii Mason was in a close game to the #15 team in the nation and pulled that one out. Almost pulled out the one against #10 as well. And Mason is a very good 3 point shooting team, but they can do much more than shoot the 3. They are a threat both inside, Miller, and outside, Setty and Middleton.

Easy Rook. You have to remember, we are talking about high school kids here and saying that they choked is very harsh. Players definately read these boards and don't deserve those comments. They know that they had the game in their hands and let it slip away. They will hopefully use this game as fuel for the rest of the season. Losing is not fun.

 

Can't win a close game when the pressure is on??? Did they not just beat a top 20 team in the NATION?? That was a close game and they definately didnt choke there. If I am not mistaken, they beat Lex Cath last year in overtime in one of the two times they played and that wasn't choking either.

 

I do agree that they try to go one on one late in the game instead of trying to run some sort of offense. But if playing zone and taking the three away would beat the Royals every time, they would have more than two losses. They are more than just a 3 point shooting team and showed that in Hawaii when normal 3's weren't falling. If it was that easy to beat them, wouldn't they lose more often?

I believe there will be some people that will be eating words as the season goes by. I think you will see this Mason team on a mission from this day on.

Darius got doubled and tripled team. It is alot easier playing teams like they did in Hawaii that probably does not have a scouting report on them like every team in the state does here.

Who played good for the Knights?

Was LC actually in Vegas or did they just play a team from Vegas in Florida?? I am figuring their flight from Florida got messed up instead of their flight from Vegas. Either way it makes it tough, and sounds to me like one very tired team, and another tired team who was playing and sleeping at home had an outstanding game with each other, and should have another in about 19 days I think it is.

I'd have to say they definately knew something about Miller. And I'm sure no matter who the team is and where they are from, they are going to try and gather up some information about the team they are playing. It's not really that had to do.

I agree. All they had to do was look in the Iolani program book to see bio's about the team. They had a few statistics and listed a few key players as well. For anyone to think they had no idea about their compitition would be wrong.

I guess its just like all you guys said about Elliott when CC beat them. The high pressure defense got to them and caused their shot to be off. Because it was definately off in the second half!!!
