This game was similar to the Princeton game Mason had early in the season. Then entire first half of Princeton, they took Setty out of the game. Mason had 4 players on the 3 point line trying to force the ball to him. They were down somewhere around 20 at halftime. The second half, Gilbert and Black started scoring and the lead was cut to 4 in the fourth quarter. Coach Ohearn was quoted in the paper that we went away from the game plan in the second half and that cost us from being able to win the game. I thought it was obvious that the "game plan" was the reason they were down 20 at half. I have said many times this year that you cant win when offense has only one player involved. That player was taken out of the game by the Pendleton defense, and the other four on the floor was suppose to make miracles happen. Who does the blame for this suppose to go to? Surely not the players on any post game show or newspaper. -

To say Setty was getting hammered is not even close to accurate. Pendleton played great team defense on him and he was frustrated. Cant blame this loss or the "T" on the officials. -

I'm not taking anything away from Pendleton, they deserved to win tonight. But can anyone honestly say that Pendleton had better players on the court than Mason? I will agree they played harder, ran their offense, and was well coached. -

Did Pendleton win this game or Mason lose it? Why would Mason wait until down 12 in 4th quarter to start pressing? Outside of #33, Pendleton did not have anyone that could handle the ball. Pendleton put 2 guys on Setty in the paint, and Mason's coaches did not have an answer. Mason's offense was a train wreck. A team you beat by 25+ in regular season, with a record of 12-14, beats you in region tournament. I agree Mason doesn't have the studs they have had in the past, but nobody will ever convince me this team should have 13 losses. It's a shame the seniors had to end their high school careers this way. -

If Black or Gilbert got as many shot attempts as Setty, they would be averaging 20+ also. This team can win region if some learn what an assist is. -

Hint to the royals. Gilbert and Hamm are pretty good shooters. If you have 3 defenders on you, probably a good chance they are open. Does this team not have any trust in each other or they just that selfish? I think a wide open three is a better shot than one with 3 people hanging on you. -

If I am Harris or Gilbert, I would be very upset. They are the only two that play hard on this team. Setty and Black are always the last two down court on defense, but for some reason, are the first two down court on offense. Harris, Gilbert and Henry trying to stop 5 guys then get the rebound. This team can be a lot better, but seem to get worse every game. Many people wondered what would happen when Mason had a team than actually needed coaching. I think that question has been answered. -

This is true. The worst part about it, its not the kids fault. This team should not be 8-6. Some things that are obvious in the stands should be noticed by the ones in suits. -

Very hard to watch Mason play. Just like the Montgomery Co tournament. Only involve one player offensively, then force other team to go zone. Why would they have a 6'9 player on the perimeter against a 2-3 zone? Lofton or Miller would have scored 70 points if they took as many shots as Setty did tonight. Mason will not have a chance come region tourney unless the find a way to get all players involved. Think I may stick to staying home and listen on radio. Not as ugly that way. -

Haven't seen all of Mason Counrtys games this year. Not very impressive in the few I've seen. Hard to win if your offense is all about one player. Need to find a way to get Gilbert involved in offense. He has to create on his own just to get a shot. Got a lot to work on. -

This was fun game to watch. Not too many teams have what you would call a TRUE point guard. Tonight both teams had true point guards that do the little things that dont show up on the stat sheet. Gilbert for Mason Co in IMO is the best player on Mason team. Mason Monroe as a freshman for PC is going to have a nice career. Seems the game has changed over the years and people only notice the high leapers who can dunk, but I like the old school basketball where heart and IQ help their team win. Good luck to the Royals in the finals. -
Bishop Brossart / Mason County predictions 3/5

I will take Mason by 15+. Need to realize Pawsat and Harris did not play in the game against Brossart in the Ashland Ivitational. With that said, Bluford did not get minutes until the finals against Ashland. This is an entirely different team than Bishop Brossart faced in December. -

Why didnt Bluford play much? He has been the one carrying Mason for most of the season. -

Dont forget, there are two ends of a basketball court.
