Mason County 56 Montgomery County 46

Featured Replies

3rd place game of Gateway Classic at Montgomery County.

Montgomery County jumped out to a 14 point first half lead and led 30-22 end of 1st half. Royals outscored Indians 18-6 in the 3rd quarter to take the lead going into 4th.

Royals just two more road games before they will FINALLY play their home opener on January 8th.

Haven't seen all of Mason Counrtys games this year. Not very impressive in the few I've seen. Hard to win if your offense is all about one player. Need to find a way to get Gilbert involved in offense. He has to create on his own just to get a shot. Got a lot to work on.

Might as well close the Fieldhouse down, who makes these schedules out? No homes games till Jan 8th, then you take the chance of being snowed out. C'mon.

Royals will be well tested when they host Deming on Jan 8th!They have logged some serious road miles..

Good comeback by the Royals after a horrible start. Indians came out hot and made just about everything for about a quarter and a half. Big second half from Setty and Black; great contributions from Harris and from Hamm off the bench.

I thought that the 4th foul called on Prewitt was very questionable. Once he fills out he will be a handful. Did anyone notice that he was defended by 5'10" Jordan Gilbert during crunch time?

Not likely, but you and many other 10th Region followers can always dream.:D

Rebounding was the difference in this one. Indians gave a good effort and got much closer to Mason than they have in recent years.

Honestly I would like to watch some games there, why they don't hold a big holiday tournament every year with teams from out of state coming in is beyond me and one of the biggest mysteries in Kentucky High School Athletics. I guess Maysville doesn't have enough restaurants and hotels

Wouldn't mind that scenario myself. Seems like folks have gotten into the pattern of traveling to warmer climes during the holidays.

Yesterday provided yet another opportunity for some Italian at Melini's. They never have disappointed us yet.:thumb:

You are 100% correct. Rebounds and second-chance opportunities. Witness the end of the third quarter where the Royals milked 2 minutes off the clock, missed a shot, with Tyler Black getting a putback at the buzzer.

I'm a realist. Many teams will get closer to Mason this year than they have in recent years. It's tough to have a squad capable of making a deep Sweet Sixteen run every year. That being said, the Royals could be a dangerous team come playoff time once again.

Many teams won't get closer until next year, this team after Pawsat returns will still battle Clark County for the region title, write that down, with the Royals the favorite until Clark County can prove that they can win a big game or a tournament of any kind, something they have never done since Knowles graduated

And if frogs had wings! Every year it is the same old song and dance. Gets old hearing how great Mason County is and how everyone else is second fiddle. Clark County is not a one sport High school, we do not stress the end of a season because the next sport usually has begun when one ends. We compete across the board every year every sport! We will see how the mighty Mason fares against this years team, we shall see!

Heard this for three straight years.:popcorn:

Which will come first, frogs with wings or Humphry putting this all state team over the hump? Just a dog gum shame this bunch has had to watch from the 4th row seats behind the scores table at Rupp the past three years!
