I can't believe more teams don't play them zone. Extend it out, take away the 3 and they are beat. Mason was winning the rebound margin at halftime, anyone know what 2nd half rebounding stats were?

I guess its just like all you guys said about Elliott when CC beat them. The high pressure defense got to them and caused their shot to be off. Because it was definately off in the second half!!! Now it cant possibly be that they just had a off shooting half, it has to be the pressure defense!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They were coming home from a road trip where they beat a top 20 team and almost beat the current number 3 team in the nation. They felt they were better than every team in the state after that. It shows no matter how good you are, there are alot of other good teams out there that can beat you.

Agreed but I hardly would think Mason Co. thought they had nothing to prove against Lex Cath. Considering the good match ups of years past including last year I'd say Mason Co. would have more invested in proving that they can beat the top teams in Kentucky.

I'm not taking anything away from lex cath because they are an excellent high school basket ball team. In about 3 weeks though i expect to see Mason county come out with a chip on their shoulder and win by 15+ points JMO.

Personally I would rather see the Royals win by 20-30, I know that's not going to happen. But they are much better than what they showed in the 4th quarter and overtime.

Scott Countys is just as tough.But yes there schedule has been brutal.Bet give LexCath credit they didnt roll over when down 12-14 they clawed back.

Can we Elliott Fans use the "excuse" of the 4 hr round trip busride wed, thurs, and 2 hrs up fri. plus not much rest from the bench. I know most of yall said it was becauseCC was just so much better! Point is people have bad games an lose. It doesn't necessarily mean your team is inferior. I like your self believe Elliott could beat CC when fully rested first game of a tourney!!!!

Kudos to Novosel for kicking the ball out to Sanford with 11 second to go in regulation. Novosel was open, yet, he saw Sanford was ready and kicked the ball out to him. And Sanford nailed it for the 3. Which is what they needed to tie the game. Smart decision by Novosel under pressure to make the team play instead of taking it to the hoop himself.

 

He does alot of little things well. He should also get more touches as others have indicated. It seems alot of teams are having trouble getting the ball into the low post. Not unique in high school, but UK should be getting it to Patterson more as well.

I'm more impressed with Mason's win over Bryan Station than a close loss to Rice. Bryan Station is a very good High School team. :thumb:

Could say the same thing about Franklin County against Cov Cath. Can Franklin use the excuse that they were without two starters?

Love to read about all those excuses about losing. Learn to accept losing without making excuses. Read all of these and just stop and think, bad coaching, bad free throw shooting, choking in close games, have been on a long trip, too many games in a short period of time, bad decisions, not calling time outs on certain occasions and it goes on and on. I believe Mason Co is the best team in the state but sometimes the best just gets knocked off.
