When Scott Co. played Holmes Guyn was the best player on the floor IMO. I think he has the ability to lead this team past Lex Cath. Ill take Scott County by 3.

Beechwood should be listed on their too. I'm not sure if they even cut anybody for baseball or basketball. They go out and compete with all the top schools like Cov Cath. Sorry to rub it in to all the Colonels but they have beaten them in Football and Basketball twice.:jump: Although it appears to be very unlikely they will beat them in baseball.

I'm very surprised to see Beechwood up in the top 35. They have 3 seniors and 2 juniors. Look like they either have potential or just off of success from last year.

Thanks:thumb:. I think Maile is easily the most talented player in NKY hands down. Not too sure about the ones in Lexington and Louisville areas. Does the winner usually come from in those two areas or is it pretty even spread out throughout the state?

I'm new to this award. Is it the best overall player? Can it be a pitcher? Does it have to be a UK signee?

Holmes doesn't really have the depth like they had last season to press. They only play 7 guys.

Ricardo needs to just take over like he did today from start to finish. I have never understood why he doesn't dominate games more often, he is easily the most talented player on the floor.

Riley deserved it. He put up the numbers and is what makes Holmes go. Gabbard controls how good Boone County does. Gabbard makes McFarland go. Don't think I'm hating on McFarland because I'm not, he's a good ball player but I think Riley can beat you from the arc and/or penetration.

I think Holmes wins this one pretty easily. They are far more athletic and I don't think Ryle has enough to stop Rico and Elijah. I sure hope Holmes wins region because they are by far the most exciting team to watch and they have the best shot out of anyone in the ninth to win state.

Doubt it, IMO Beechwood played pretty poorly. The Tigers didn't shoot the ball well.

I agree Beechwood shouldn't complain about pushing off but that statement is just stupid because they didn't call it once. As a Beechwood fan, I'm not blaming the refs at all, we missed free throws and opportunities to either tie or take the lead. Tip of the cap to Boone for making free throws esp. late, how about Mcfarland's 1st shot, off the back rim 2 feet in the air and falls in.

Congrats girls. Would you consider next year a rebuilding year or can they compete with the best?

I say Beechwood surprises everyone and comes out ready to play, Coach Shumate will have a gameplan and these guys will be ready, I think Beechwood pulls it out by 6 with Beuttel icing the game with a couple free throws.

Chas Hyde looks to shake things up this year for the Tigers, he is gonna be rusty coming off a successful basketball season, look for him to put up solid numbers for Beechwood this year.

I would have to laugh at your 10 points better due to coaching. Shumate is one of the top coaches in this area. As for losing to Highlands by 10? I recall a 5 point victory against the Birds with Beechwood having more turnovers that game than any other all season. I guess your right though, good season for the Tigers they might as well not show up because they don't have a shot against Boone.:ohbrother::laugh:

Beechwood has Larrimore, Bertke, and Colosimoor Hall as 2, 3, 4. Hall and Colosimo could vary in order.

Much different from last years field, this year is very strong with no cupcakes in the first round. Holmes has to be hoping to draw Dixie or St. Henry.

Eta, I could be wrong about this, but wasn't it you that said Romes wasn't that great of a defender. I believe you posted that in the Cov Cath/ Holy Cross thread a few weeks ago. Why did you change your mind?
