You don't cut in football. Only situation which I could see you cutting a senior is if he is a distraction by complaining and or causing a disruption to the team, but in that case it would be a dismissal and not a cut.

With as much bashing as there is, these rankings usually pan out decently but it takes almost the whole season.

It is a difference by score formula. So for example The Tigers beat the Dogs 35-0 and the Sharks beat the Dogs 21-14 the Tigers will be rated higher than the Sharks. I would have to think there is a starting number used based on last season, class, and other aspects but I don't know the details and I don't think they are public.

The thing about North is that they potentially could be the next great high school program in Kentucky but they need to have Ballard, Eastern, and Fern Creek on there schedule instead of Atherton, Shawnee, and KCD. And I don't blame anyone for this, as schedules are two year deals and North is still a brand new program but they will not get noticed playing the traditional doormat programs. Until they develop a strong Louisville reputation they (as much as if not more than anyone else) will lose the best players to schools in St Matthews and Germantown. They may have an average 3A schedule, but they should strive for more.

Oldham Co schools are in the Louisville market but they aren't in 6A, therefore they will get "also ran" treatment. Plus Oldham just got trounced by St X, South hasn't won a game, and North's schedule is a joke. But a more general response to your question would be what kind of "love" are you looking for? Most people on the site post on what they know regionally with attention to the top 10 teams across the state. If they aren't getting love on the site it is probably because they don't have many supporters on the site, or many people who have seen them play.

Last season no one scored less than 34 points on Butler, and Eastern in particular beat them 34-0.

Tough way to start for the Panthers.

Manual wins another close one. Seneca had the ball down deep in the redzone with the score 42-35 and threw and int that Manual ran back for TD ending the game. I was very impressed with Seneca's QB and there overall passing game. Number 10 for the Redskins throws a nice ball and played a great game all night long. The game started off as a barn burner with Seneca scoring on their second play and Manual scoring on there first. Seneca lead at one point 28-14 in the second and the half time score was 28-21 Seneca. In the second half Manual scraped away at the score finally came wawy with it, I don't clearly remember the scoring breakdown but the fourth quarter was filled with TD's. Defensively Manual has issues with the DB's. One player in particular had three TD's passed on him because the receiver outran him and the player tried to make an early play on the ball. Manual played well offensively both in the passing and running game, especially #18 at WR, he made some very important rec. Seneca played very tough, they need to show some more control as they had multiple personal fouls and one player ejected, I don't know that they are a great team, but I could see them giving any good team a scare.

"Central" is Louisville Central, they are the 3A team that is ranked #1.

I thought that odd when I saw it. I don't know if any other head coaches have coached from the box, but I found it especially surprising considering his passion and demeanor, he is the type of coach you want on the field.

Should have said preseason but I wasn't preparing for an attack from the literal police. Central is one of the very few teams Manual will face that has a physical advantage over them. This part of the reason that getting Central early is very dangerous, you have to play well to overcome that physical disadvantage. Playing well is especially difficult early in the season. Give this Manual squad more experience and I see them developing to a pretty good team. I don't expect this team to play with St X, due to strengths on weaknesses but they will be a tough out for anyone else. What four losses do you see on the schedule? And yes this team looked more physically mature than they did last season.

I was asking the same question at the beginning of the season, mostly because I was concerned with the amount of talent lost. However after seeing them play against Central I think they have the potential to get there. We need to remember that Central had like 5 D1 prospects on that team and Manual did beat them with only three returning starters. This Manual team will be very strong defensively, if you think about it nearly all of Central's offense came from big play TD's. Thats not to say those don't count but Central didn't drive the ball on Manual at all. On offense Manual dropped passes like none other and need to fix that, but they ran decently on a very strong Central run D. Another note, as a whole Manual looked more sturdy than they did last year. From top to bottom the players looked a little thicker and more physically mature than last season, maybe I'm just seeing things, but I think could help them later on in the season.

Something about the urban markets.... There is a great opportunity to get overlooked in the urban markets due to media coverage. For example there is one newspaper in Louisville, they cover the Louisville area which probably includes around 30 or so teams. The media can't focus on any teams as much as local paper can in a two or three team town. I look at Manual who has for years been under the shadow of the big three and see players like Travis Prentice who set the NCAA TD record at Miami Ohio not get better look or Keenan Burton who doesn't even get a scholarship offer from his hometown school. From other teams like Western where George Bussey had to walk on at UofL. From Phil Steele's guide it shows that 6 of the top 23 NFL draft picks were not highly touted recruits out of high school. I think that many great players slip through the cracks mostly because scouting is not as as like to believe. Someone once made a really great point in that the NFL hire the best scouts money can buy and review players with a fine tooth comb, yet it so often happens that undrafted free agents amount to more players than rounds 2 through 7 combined. Scouting is not often what we give it credit for and they miss a lot of players.

Let me amend this some, it isn't that Hawk didn't have a good game but I think I was attributing much of James Clays contribution to Hawk. Clay was actually the leading rusher with 93yrds and two TD's.

That doesn't make much sense.
