Did we see two different games? Beechwood had JV players in from the begining of the game and by late 2nd quarter it was 70-30 JV. Bellevue had one good drive, first drive and did not score again, well 2nd and 3rd stringers did late in the game, do we even count that. If the blame lies in the "mistakes" they need to get to work, hard. The truth of the matter is the Bellevue boys played there hearts out, never gave up. They were simply outgunned, as most of Beechwoods foes have been. Those "mistakes were the result of aggressive defence and pressure. So dont discredit the Black and Gold pride, and desire by telling them they made the mistakes that cost them a chance to win. We do agree on one thing Bellevue 28 Gallitin 13

I counted 4 of Beechwoods starters out on"d", Mainello, a D1 prospect at Dend, Bankemper at lb, one of the hardest hitting lbs in NKY, Elliot with 4.4 speed at corner, Bessie, a 6'6 Dend with speed. If we add those boys to the what if list, you would of seen a different game as well, Cant say how much I respect Bellevue for hanging in there, great bunch of kids. Cant say much for the parking, but once you get in the stadium, The Bellevue folks are perfect hosts. Thankyou for making us feel welcome!

They can't play at the same level as Beechwood, they are a typical 1A school, as is Dayton and Ludlow. They might of had a drive on The Tigers (BW), but that is it, a drive, 4 minutes of a 60 minute game, thats all they will give you. Congrats to Bwood! came back from a poor first half on offence to secure the win. IMO the defence, once they adjusted to the blocking schemes, looked excellent. Pressure from #26 and #56 all night, I believe they had 4 or 5 sacks between them. Hoffman, again playing hurt, showed guts and leadership in his performance. The only weakness was at the corner position, with Elliot not playing D, and Bankemper out, they have not seemed to find suitable fill ins for the dbs. As far as Tiepel goes, what can be said! I believe in another thread one of the HC fans doubted Tiepels ability to string two productive performances together, I hope he can sleep easier now that he knows the answer! IMO the best individual performance of the season out of the backfield, well done Nieko!

Nieko Tiepel. Beechwood High School. Nieko is now the feature back at BHS, due to Bankempers injury. After a three and a half hour bus ride Sat morning, this young man rushed for 196 yards and three touchdowns, leading the way to a BHS victory over a very physical Prestonburg defence. Nieko also plays safety, and helped the Tigers shut down Pburg passing game at the end. Taking a tip from DMZ I too will mention the 2 O-Guards, Chris Hoffman and Dominic Mainello, these guys made what could of been a long day, a little easier for Nieko.

I am sorry some of you took my comment the way you did, cshs81 hit it on the head, no stars! The program would not be where it is,the last 2 years, if not for Bankemper. This versatile, humble young man has givin his all and more to coach Rash. As players mature and age the program changes with them, Tommys role has changed as well, not less important just different.

Not down on Tommy B at all, just saying with the weight he is carrying this year he has lost a step , and is not hitting the hole as fast as Tiepel. Time for a "thunder and lightning" backfield Bankempers power and Tiepels speed. No animosity at all, been a big #4 fan since youth football.

Tiepel is tough durable RB, IMO the "star" status of the injured running back is in question, Tiepel is more than capable of stringing more than one game together. If my memory serves me right, he ran all over HC, after NCC last year when the "star" was hurt.

Dayton really cant do anything to beat Beechwood, this showed to be true early and often in there last meeting. Man for man they just dont match up, and I am not talking about the skill positions, allthough the Tigers are ahead in that catagorie too. There have been those that insist that Dayton just had a bad game, nonsense, no one just has a bad game, they were simply out played and over matched

With the exception of the 2nd quarter, Beechwood was in control, Defense in the 2nd half was overwhelming for Pburg, they just could not put plays together. Number 26,56, and 52 on D were too much for them. Prestonburg played a very good game, never gave up, and unlike the Surf Fisherman, had me a little nervous on more than one occasion. Congrats to Pburg, your a class program!

Congrats to the Tigers and Coach Rash! Also, great job by Nieko Tiepel, showed speed and desire, something Beechwoods running game needed.

There has been occasion that Beechwood does bring up Freshman who are exceptional, the last 2 that I know of were Dominic Mainello#56 and Matt Miller #77. Tommy Bankemper #4 and Cody Elliot #13 were the previous years prodogies. All of these boys started for Beechwood the past two seasons, this being their third year ,with the exception of Miller who has struggled.

75 allowed 2 sacks, countless pressures, and 3 tackles in the backfield, his man, his responsibility, Div 1 allright!

Just went through 306 photos of the Dayton vs Beechwood game, heres what I saw. Number 75, out of position and being dominated by #56, big boy yes, Div 1, I doubt it. Number 56 is a true Div 1 prospect, not just letters, real interest. Your #67 didnt show up as much, every time I saw him he was away friom the play or being manhandled by Beechwoods #26 and #52, by the way another true Div 1 prospect, coach visits and all that good stuff. How can you say that it didnt effect the outcome. #27 stripping of the ball, sure td, BW Bankempers fumble within striking distance CCH, pass interference not called on CCH pass interference not called on Beechwood, pass called incomplete on CCH countless bad spots, clock screw ups. Bad? I think so. All these calls could have had a dramatic impact on the game for either team. The kids dedicate there life to this game, all the time that it requires is amazing. To have a crew such as was appointed to this game or any game is a slap in the face to the programs. I am sure CCH would have preffered a win or loss without contraversy, and Beechwood I am sure feels the same

Both the programs are also rans. I here all the river teams saying that they will be the second best team, and make the playoffs.If you win one game you probably make the playoffs! I always thought 2nd place was first loser.

You just dont have the size and or talent, wait let me explain this, Dayton has fair to good skill positions, but those guys have no oppurtunity to showcase those skills against Bwood. Daytons O line is not now and never will match up with Beechwoods D line, with the exception of 4 min of glory on a 80 yd drive they did nothing, not bad play, outmanned. you are going against two Div one prospects on Bwoods line, same guys on offense. Enough said.
