Paintsville 30 Pikeville 6
I guess Pikeville won't be knocking off Williamsburg this year.

The "Super 6", unbeaten another week.
the 1A and 3A schools are both as safe as it gets this week. All the other games could go either way.

Hazard/Campbellsville Predictions
Something about this game makes me think upset. Hazard should win by 21 to 28 points, however, I'm smelling upset.

1A Playoff Preview - Could there be a Beast from the East?
Certainly. Williamsburg will lose if they don't come prepared to play in the 3rd and 4th round, but if they play to their potential and focus in they should be back in Bowling Green. Williamsburg and Hazard will both cruise to region finals though.

1A Playoff Preview - Could there be a Beast from the East?
This Williamsburg team has played Raceland twice as far as this group of kids go once in 8th grade on a neutral field and last year at Williamsburg. Both games Williamsburg won convincingly, I'm sure it would've been closer at Raceland but I don't think the outcome would've changed and I don't see it changing this year either if Williamsburg takes their games in the east seriously. Hazard was the toughest team Williamsburg played from the east last year by far.

1A Playoff Preview - Could there be a Beast from the East?
I'll believe it when I see it, these same Pikeville players lost by 2td's to Raceland last year, so I'd worry about beating them before I worried about beating the Burg senseless. Wburg is as good or better at every position this year as last year and as the playoff's proved they were far and away the best small school in the East last year, this year will be no different.

1A Playoff Preview - Could there be a Beast from the East?
Heard this story before Williamsburg will be there again, might not be able to hang with Mayfield but they will beat Pikeville.

BluegrassPreps.com Kentucky Class 1A Football Rankings for 9-29
I'm not saying anything about Mayfield, but comparing Williamsburg to the other teams in the East. The West was substantially better than the East last year which is why I have no gripe with what you want to do with them. But until proven otherwise Williamsburg should be the top team in the East. Williamsburg might have only been the 4th or 5th best team in class A last year as the Finals clearly indicated. However, they were far and away the best team in the Eastern half of the state in Class A.

Maybe so but Williamsburg returned their whole team from last year. I think you could make a case for Beechwood or Frankfort ahead of them, but not Pikeville. Pikeville lost to a team last year Williamsburg beat by 27 and all but one player from Burg is back and better, not to mention they added a top notch runningback from Harlan.

BGP 1A Rankings for 9-22
Not denying that but sounds to reason the team that brought everyone back then added Harlan County's best back will be as good as anyone else that lost people.

BGP 1A Rankings for 9-22
Williamsburg can and will beat Pikeville and should be highest ranked team in the East until someone from the east beats them. Williamsburg brought all but one player back from a team that was at least 2 touchdowns better than every other eastern team last year.

Let's hear what the BGP Fans think about the 1A Top 10 !!!
They are the team to beat in the East until proven otherwise. Returned all but one starter on a team that beat everyone in the East by at least 2 touchdowns last year. They also picked up the Harlan Central running back this year. Can they compete with Mayfield, I'm not sure but they are the top team in the East until someone beats them.

These rankings are always interesting but not always accurate. Mayfield would not beat Pulaski this year for example.

Kentucky High School Football Radio Station Guide
I was driving out of town this weekend and listened to several good games, and I thought it would be nice to have a list here of all the stations in the state that carry high school football and who they carry, that way if you are going on a road trip you can figure out who you can listen to on Friday nights. Anyways I'll start it with the ones I know. Corbin 107.3FM Whitley County 104.3FM Williamsburg 102.7FM Somerset 102.3 Knox Central 96.1FM North Laurel 96.7FM South Laurel 103.9FM

Is Ashland in a win or done moment this week?
It's highschool and in Kentucky today everyone makes the playoffs so no matter what you aren't done until a playoff loss.

Lynn Camp 22 Jellico (TN) 18
Could very well be their only win all year, glad they were able to capitalize.
-
Clay County 68 Corbin 54 (13th Region Finals)
Glad to see Richie can post pone his prison sentence to attend the region tournament.
-
Williamsburg 53 South Laurel 51
Na, the 1998 beat some teams that were better that year than South Laurel is now to win the District. If they do something in the region we can talk about that though.

Mayfield 42 Williamsburg 0 (2013 Class 1A State Championship)
Lost the qb, how the new qb does next year will determine how far they go. They will win their district and likely compete with Hazard for the region at a minimum beyond that depends on how the new qb develops.

Mayfield 42 Williamsburg 0 (2013 Class 1A State Championship)
I think the opening drive changed everything. From the moment the punt was blocked and Mayfield scored in 1 play, the deer in headlights look got worse. In my opinion I figure the sore should have been something like 28-7, 31-14 if the played in good field conditions and not in a state championship setting. Although, it's hard for me to really know. The way the first quarter went I think both coaches called the last 3 quarters differently. In some situations I think Williamsburg would have went for it on fourth down and other times I feel like Mayfield might have thrown downfield more late in the game. So any predictions I make on what it would be in some idea situation aren't really perfect. Griffith playing for Williamsburg would've helped Burg in the secondary but Mayfield had several downfield threats, so would it have changed the outcome in a substantial way, probably not.

Mayfield 42 Williamsburg 0 (2013 Class 1A State Championship)
With comments like that you will never get one from me. You can sit there and say you saw this coming, but no one can truly know when teams are this far removed. The arrogance out of Mayfield is ridiculous. Your a great 1a team good job. But forgive me if I support the kids in my hometown, and dare say they have a chance to win a ball game.

Mayfield/Williamsburg Updates

Mayfield vs. Williamsburg Predictions (2013 Class 1A State Championship)
Spoke to one of the administrators at Williamsburg this week he wished we played you guys every year, said your fans, coaches, and administrators were "first class all the way."
-
New Classification possibility
This would punish the smaller schools in their best years forcing them to play better schools. For the schools you talk about like Highlands and Mayfield could be good. But for other schools like Williamsburg and Wayne County you would force them to play up in their years when they actually have a chance to go far in their true class size playoffs.

Rank The Remaining Teams
To me in the olden days it would have been a lot of fun to have all the state champions play a 4 team playoff after the class title games. Probably drag things out too long though and with 6 it would definitely be hard to do and take too long.
