Picked Clay in the contest...they didn't disappoint.

Clay County, playing in their third consecutive regional final, wins to make back-to-back trips to Rupp Arena. This will be the school's 29th trip.

 

For Clay County, first of all, a huge game from Trey Farmer.

 

Big games from Blake Smith and Chip McDaniel as well. McDaniel didn't have his best night offensively, and I'm sure a large part of that might have been Corbin's game planning, but he was still perfect from the line and he certainly held them together through the Corbin rallies.

 

Wes Wolfe, Jake Allen, and Ryan House each played great as well. Allen had a number of "and-one" opportunities.

 

 

For Corbin, hats off to the Maguet kid. Man, he sounds like someone that my heart goes out to in this loss. You can look back through the update thread and see that he's a kid who got some big buckets for them once they were down 14 early in the 2nd half, and kind of put them on his back for awhile. He's only a freshman and Andrew Taylor an 8th grader.

 

Given that and the fact that CC's Farmer, Smith, Wolfe and House are only Sophomores, there are going to be battles between these schools for years to come.

Just looked it up. He reports to prison on March 18.
