Theoldguy
The Good: The CovCath pitching! Shumate throws a 4 hitter and holds Holmes to just one run. It was the fourth straight complete game by the CovCath pitching staff and it was accomplished by four different CovCath pitchers. Each Pitcher Severson (Badin) Maile (HHS) Tomlin (Cooper) and Shumate (Holmes) only allowed one run each, so as I said earlier in the year, CovCath pitching is deep and Arnzen and Hellman haven't even throw yet this year. The Bad: A botched squeeze play but that is going to happen from time to time. The Ugly: Really nothing Gruber Grill Defensive Star of the game: It really wasn't a play but just an observation. Tommy C of Holmes hit a rocket in the first that young Grant Schriever dove for but didn't catch, however while lying on his stomach on the ground he flipped the ball to Brady Reese, who got the ball in quickly to the infield. Now these two have only played about three games together but this play showed me that the young Schriever understands how to play the outfield. BAWAC Inc. Offensive Star of the game: Tommy Arnzen is my pick in this game. Tommy hit a rocket to the deepest part of the CovCath outfield and ran like the wind (not really) to earn himself a triple and later a run scored. Tom also hit a double that drove in 2 runs in the 5th inning. Nice to have your number #8 batter hitting like Tom did today. PeeWee's Place Star of the game: Got to give the nod to Adam Shumate. He pitched one whale of a game and kept the Bulldogs guessing. Adam struck out 10 Bulldogs with 5 of those being called out while looking.

Clyde
My guess is as Tom gets the rust off he will move up higher in the lineup.
Clyde
I'd be curious to see Jake Lankheit's average. He's killing it.
