10th Region Draw

Featured Replies

Is this 4/5 years that it is Montgomery/Pendleton first round?

Not sure, but I know that GRC and Scott has met in the semis the last few years. I am sure they are glad this year they are in the opposite bracket as GRC.

They've played in 5 of 6 regionals. 4 times in the semis.

Clark with a great draw! They will see Mason Co/Mont Co in the finals!

We are taking it one game at a time. And I would not count out Pendleton Co and Scott.

Thanks. Knew we had played several times, and that was the team I didn't want to play.

It seems like everyone wants to give GRC a cake walk to the finals. I think Augusta and Campbell Co might have something to say about that.

Montgomery over Pendleton

Mason over Scott

Clark over Augusta

Campbell over Deming

Mason over Montgomery

Clark over Campbell

Clark over Mason

Mason County will get back to Rupp IMO.

GRC/MC final.

Interesting to say the least. Clark has to feel pretty good.

Anybody ever see the movie the "300"? Augusta vs' Clark is a similar script Augusta has maybe 100 kids in HS vs' Clark at near 2000. That's what makes KY basketball great without class systems to taint the process and ever once in awhile the underdog pulls off the upset. It almost happened in Brooksville last week.

Against Mason Co. Believe me the GRC team and staff are aware of this. This group is really focused and is taking one game at a time.

If Pendleton and Mason both win their first-round games, it will be the third straight year they've met up in the semifinals.

I will pick Mason Co to win the top bracket.

I'll take Scott.

Not overly wild about a 100+ mile trip on a school night. Scott playing a 730 game will put them home very late.

I'll only say this one more time because nobody is listening or they're too biased to see the truth. Mason Co. is essentially the geographic middle of the 10th region. They have a large enough facility to house the crowds, plenty of food and hotel resources should you desire and years of experience handling everything tournament related. I'd add something about revenues but unfortunately I don't have that data but that should be taken into account as well because I would guess when it's in Montgomery Co. & Bank of Kentucky the revenues are negatively impacted as well. Let's just admit it was a nice experiment but for the sake of the kids and fans let's move it to Mason and leave it there.

Years of experience handling everything tournament related ^

IMO they still need some work in this area... see last year's student section placement. I bet there is no game this year where the home team's fans are directly behind the opponent's bench. And before anyone says anything... The team who is supposed to be home or guest shouldn't have to "choose".

The last time it was in Mt. Sterling there was worry that there wouldn't be enough room. It snowed so space was never a big problem. This year should be a more normal crowd and result in a truer picture of attendance and revenue.

So no, personally I am far from being ready to call it a nice experiment.

I agree, the only place to hold the regional, IMO.

Well said.
