Birdsfan
2012 - Your 4-year-old's lunchbox is siezed and inspected by The Fiscal and Statutory Policy Manager for the Division of Child Development and Early Education at the Department of Health and Human Services. Their lunch is disqualified, your child is scolded and forced to consume federally mandated supplemental nutrition units. You receive a written reprimand and are ordered to pay a fine. 1982 - The lunch lady gives your 4-year-old a hug and maybe an apple. Still wondering why we have a staggering national debt, schools turning into little Gitmos and kids on Prozac?

Henry521
A government agent inspected her lunch. It did not meet government standards. This is a 4 year old that her mother packed her lunch, banana, turkey and cheese sandwich, chips and an apple juice and it did not meet government standards of 2 veggies by the Dept. of Argriculture agent that was inspecting the lunches of children that had brought lunch to school that day. They threw out her lunch and made her eat the school mandated lunch of chicken nuggets and then charge the mother for the school lunch. So now we have a goverment that is going to tell us what we can pack in our own childrens lunch. How many freedoms will we give up before we realize we have lost it all. Zlatan
 I can't decide why I'm laughing. It may be in response to the absolutely ludicrous story. It also might be because I feel so helpless to stop the tide of momentum that is sweeping away my and my countrymen's personal freedoms

It still reads state regulation in the story. I am failing to see how this is Mrs. Obama's fault. Especially when the story also says that it looks like some technical assistance is needed at the school. This seems more like a school issue about properly enforcing state regulation. MJAlltheWay24
Sounds to me like a ploy to make kids pay for lunch at school instead of packing.
