Sounds to me like a ploy to make kids pay for lunch at school instead of packing.

 

That's exactly what I was thinking. They are forcing schools to supply food w/out any idea how much of that food will be needed. As a result much of that goes to waste. How much money does that waste? Our Government, state level included, is run by too many people who have no common sense. After watching how much money FEMA costs our country every time there is a natural disaster, I am left to wonder how much more money could be saved by less incompetence in other agencies.

Chicken patty day was better but Chicken nuggets were a close 2nd.

Brought a sandwich, chips, dessert and a piece of fruit in a brown bag to school every day from ages 5-18. I always thought it was a good lunch... especially when there was leftover meatloaf. It's 9:30 a.m. and I'm getting hungry just thinking about a meatloaf sandwich. And now that I know it's probably banned? Forbidden meatloaf sandwich... I want one now.

Nothing is better than the rectangle pizza from school.

We had a line where you could get a chicken patty or hamburger (should I say soy burger) every day.

I teach middle school and chicken nugget day (tomorrow, BTW) is still my favorite!
