January 8, 201214 yr Author I also believe some of you need to take a deep breath. If you would known the Bengals would make the post-season before the opening kick of the year, every Bengal fan would have taken that. Not sure many (if any) predicted Cincy making the playoffs this year given that we knew they would be starting a second round rookie QB. Sure, they did not have any impressive victories, and lost every game to teams worth a darn that they played, but I would argue before the year most would have put them on the same level as the teams they beat. Crocker and Nelson are both FAs. I'll be stunned if the Bengals make an offer to either. Crocker's drop was Billups-esque. I think you will be stunned then because Crocker has one year left on his contract, and Nelson they will sign back. Nelson was one of the better defensive backs this year. He still had his fair share of mistakes, however there were people even around the league talking about the good season he was having. So he will be back unless he doesn't want to be back.
January 8, 201214 yr 6 weeks in a row of well below average play. Fact Was the QB of the winning team a veteran? Thats the bothersome point that Yates had/has far less pro starts and beat him twice in a year.

One good thing with respect to scheduling is that they finished third in their division. That pairs them up with Oakland, Miami, and Jacksonville. Not sure on which divisions they go against next season. The Bengals play 5 games against teams with winning records next year. 4 of those 5 games come against the Ravens and Steelers. They play the AFC West, NFC East, and Jags, Dolpins.
January 8, 201214 yr You wanted to see the best running backs in the nfl and where they were drafted...so I showed the top 25 rushers. And it shows that if you want an elite back more than likely you are going to have to draft him in either the 1st or 2nd round. Arian Foster, undrafted FA...

Yeah FC since you say they're good and Daltons only concern is his size youre right. Oh wait, no I am. He isn't that good and his arm isn't that good. Where's Habib? Maybe I'm high on coke but the Gals didn't look good on offense right? 10 points isn't a good look. 42 attempts, 250 yards, 3 picks and no scores. Maybe just maybe I'm right about Dalton and all the kool-aid drinkers are wrong. Maybe Well since you want to keep saying this kool-aid drinking stuff, how about you keep taking what your taking then since you think that. Not a thing in the game suggested his arm is weak and won't cut it. Your basically making an evualation on how a guy is based on a rookie year when he set some rookie records and led a team to the playoffs? Wow! He is going to make some mistakes he is a rookie and that is what has happened playing against these top defenses, which as usual you fail to recognize that at all. Your whole evaluation on NFL stuff really takes a big hit, when you are going to act like your right on a guy who is a rookie who has done better than most rookie QB's in NFL history. Which by the way 2 of the 3 interceptions were not really to much on him. A guy made a incredible interception, so give credit where credit is due. Then on his 2nd one he was better off throwing it up for grabs rather than taking a sack on 4th down. As I said before his biggest things is his height, because he did lead the league in passes batted down at the line, and sometimes being to conserative looking at one receiver in Green. He looks at Green if he can't get open, then he checks it down. However he is a rookie, and that is a problem rookies usually get better with, with more experience.

They play the AFC West, NFC East, and Jags, Dolpins. Can't believe the have the AFC West again. Of course you'd think Oakland will be awesome next year.
January 8, 201214 yr The least of the Bengals' issues is their starting QB. Not sure why the conversation continues??
January 8, 201214 yr Author Everyone was wrong. He isn't that good. He beat Matt Hasselbeck and Ryan Fitzparick. Yey. He's not as good as everyone thought. His arm wasn't strong enough this year to beat any good team. He hasn't played good in two months. The facts are right in front of everyone but they want him to be good so they look the other way and make excuses like he's a rookie. True he is a rookie. However next year they play Vick, Romo, Rivers and Manning. Not Painter, Whitehurst, Skelton and Clemmons. Uh oh. Hmmm wow you continue to put down a ROOKIE QB WHO played 11 games including the playoffs against top 10 defenses. I am sorry to tell ya, but the other QB's he is playing is not on the field when Dalton is. When Dalton is on the field it is both top 10 defenses, and top 10 DPR. So your little whole thing on the QB they were playing has nothing to do with being right on Dalton. As a rookie with a rookie WR, and rookie OC playing top 10 defenses does matter. Which by the way those QB's of teams they play next year had mostly bad defenses this year, so which means Dalton should look better against them. Now that is facts sitting right in front of you.

January 8, 201214 yr So we don't have a problem with opposing running backs just running up and down the field?Nope just a QB with a "weak" arm.
January 8, 201214 yr Author The least of the Bengals' issues is their starting QB. Not sure why the conversation continues?? I'm sure glad he is not an evaluator of NFL QB's for the draft or their first seasons playing. Because Brees, and Manning would have been out of the league after their rookie seasons. Tom Brady would never have gotten a chance to play because he fell to the 6th round so that shows he has all kinds of flaws. Aaron Rodgers would have been done because his first year starting he took a team who was in the NFC Championship and turned them into a non playoff team his first year starting. So don't you see all the top QB's played perfect their first seasons playing, and all star QB's got taken in the 1st round, because if they slipped past the 1st that means something was wrong with them and they won't ever be good.
January 8, 201214 yr Author Can't believe the have the AFC West again. Of course you'd think Oakland will be awesome next year. Hey I consider the Oakland game to be a game the Bengals should win. Next year is a make or break year though for Palmer and Jackson, if Jackson is still even the coach. No one is the AFC West is that scary of a team, the Chargers should be but they choke every year. NFC East should be better but those teams usually end up overrated because of the market they are in so they get lots of attention. I think Philly will be a great team next year though. So the schedule will be a little tougher but is manageable. They will have to find away to at least split with the likes of the Steelers and Ravens though. Can't get swept by them again.
January 8, 201214 yr Mike Smith of the Falcons is bailing Marvin out today for worst coach of the weekend.
January 8, 201214 yr Arian Foster, undrafted FA... There were only 2 out of the top 25 rushers that were undrafted...doesn't really support the fact that Top Tier RB's are a dime a dozen when 17 of the top 25 were drafted in the 1st 2 rounds.
