What's the worst you've been hurt?

Featured Replies

Broken right arm and thumb. Broken left arm. Broken left fibula. Torn ligaments in both ankles. Broken cheek bone with six stitches under left eye. Jim Beam let me down on that one. :D

Pneumonia when I was 3 years old. Coughed too hard and popped both lungs. I was in the hospital for a month and 40 years later, still have the battle scars where they stuck tubes in my chest. Nothing more than a sprained ankle since then and boy, that hurt more than anything including giving birth!

You were electrocuted in the face by a horse? No way is insurance going to cover a thing like that!

That horse had it out for me!

I'd say my worst injury was breaking my ankle and heel bone at the same time. It really hasn't been the same since.

I have had broken 5 broken arms total

Reminds me of the old joke about the mother who sent her son, who had moved away a few years earlier, 3 socks. When asked why, she said, "Because I heard he grew another foot!"

I'll be here all week - don't forget to tip your waitress!!

When I was 13 I wrecked my four wheeler tore most of the skin off my back and the handlebar hit my mouth ripping my braces off and stuffing them up in my gums behind my nose. I needed to be knocked out to cut the braces out of the top of my mouth.

GEEEEEEEEEZZ! That's gotta hurt!

The worst I've been hurt? This girl I met in college. I thought she really dug me, til I saw her kissing some other guy. That really hurt...

Dude, how many times do I have to apologize for that? She came on to me. Plus she was smokin' hot, so there was practically nothing I could do.

That excuse didn't work, I've tried it.:ohbrother:

Hit by a car going 40 mph when I was a 10 year old kid, in the hospital for 32 days in traction with a compound break of my left leg a fracture of the right leg plus a concusion, then in a body cast for 10 weeks, could not walk for months or go to school it was terrible was in the hospital for Christmas.

Broke both ankles different times, but sprained them 5-6 times each.

Head first Waverly Hills into a tree sled riding. Just a bad headache but lucky I didn't break my neck.

Front tooth knocked out. Had a date with a new girl that nite.

Tore Hamstring rounding third Bluegrass State games., 20 years ago still bothers me. Missed 6 weeks playing time

Head first into the left fielder chasing a fly ball for the final out for a tourny game. Smashed my shin bone out 8 weeks.

Broke right index finger diving back into first on a line drive.

I've been very lucky with injuries. Stitches twice and a sprained ankle.

However, I've been in the hospital on every major holiday and my birthday for various reasons. The worst was an 11 night stay for viral meningitis. Had a spinal tap done, worst pain I've been through...

Been sicker than injured really.

But, a couple years back and again about 4-5 months ago, I did something crazy to my back, and by noon that day my back was crooked from my hips up. By the end of the day, I could barely move, and after I laid down in bed, I was unable to move for 4-5 days without pretty much having to be moved by someone else. Both times, doctors gave me some high quality pain meds and within 4-5 days I was back to normal.

Worst pain I've ever felt for sure, but the best part of it is, now whenever I have even the slightest pain in my back, everyone around me freaks out. I try not to take advantage of it too much though. :D

Well, nothing I've experienced has been nearly as bad as most of you but, here's my list:

Broke all 10 of my toes at one time once, running barefoot and tripped on an uneven sidewalk.

Tripped over a crack in the sidewalk and fell on my face, broke my nose and broke my glasses, which caused the frames to pinch a chunk out of my forehead and 2 black eyes.

Fell off a bike and broke my collar bone.

Was in a car wreck and it flipped end over end which caused a fractured back.

Had a piece of bone chip off of the inside of my knee and jam in the joint requiring surgery to remove.

Of all the above, the most pain I remember was actually from the phyisical therapy after the knee surgery.

Don't know if this qualifies as "getting hurt" or not, but I once was on a weekend trip with my kids when they were about 8 and 9 and had to leave them with a night audit clerk at the hotel while I went to the hospital. Turns out I had a raging kidney infection and could have died. Go figure.

I've had plenty of other "hurts" without the broken stuff. I once was trying to run down my LuckyDog and tripped over a tree root in a neighbors yard, causing an airborne flip, landing on the tree root and causing yet another plethora of bruises, the worst of which was on my thigh. That sucker swelled up crazy! And my whole leg was black, literally black for weeks.

I was in the 5th grade and had a hernia. It was down in 'that' area. The doctor tried to push it back up. I'm cringing just thinking about it.
