I met Duke42 at the 09 BW/MF game. He's the one that told me Bw was too fast for Mayfield. I can see now after all the comments he don't know jack about football.. Also, everybody should make a decent effort to try to spell these kids name's correctly but if they are off a little lets not go haywire.

I was watching it live on tv. It did not appear to hit a Mayfield defender.

 

Live on tv? Where? And is it on the internet? I didn't know it was on tv.

 

I talked to some people who were very close to the sideline and they said it hit a Mayfield defender 1st plus I talked to a coach who didnt think it was pass interference. Mayfield says it wasn't, Beechwood says it was, I'd like to see it myself in slow motion because to my eye it looked like ball and players all arrived at the same time.

Well, I hope Sith gets better and Lamont is good to go for state game and Jimathon keeps running the ball and Coach Murris is rewarded with another ring! Come on! Is that the best a Mayfield education can do for you?

That is a sad comment to make in public. You may have sour grapes with Bw but somethings are better left unsaid.

I thought Raush had a good game plan for the Cardinals, but Volkee just couldn't get much on the outside, but, Neessbom sure ran it well all night. He's a tough kid. Hopefully there QB, David, will be okay..

As a Tiger super fan, I must say I wanted Beechwood to win. However, I cannot deny the fact that the game against Mayfield was "fair and square". Unfortunately, the tigers will have to wait at least another year before they can play anyone. It would have been nice to have another week but I do hope that Mayfield takes the state title. On another note I would like to thank Mayfield for their hospitality. Great season tigers! Can't wait to watch Nussbaum's (this is the correct way to spell his name) senior year!

In regards to the last drive's penalties, whether they were wrong or right does not change the scoreboard in Beechwood's favor. That was a fair fight, Beechwood vs. Mayfield. Mayfield won, accept it...

Well put. I think anyone that is honest, and was there, will tell you that the majority of Mayfield fans showed respect and sportsmanship in winning, just as Beecwood did in losing after the heat of the moment settled down. The two teams have the utmost respect for each other and the true fans of good football, on both teams, do as well.

I think this is the lamest post I've ever read on BGP! Says alot more about the poster than it does about the Bwood Seniors. I follow Boone County and only had the opportunity to see one Beechwood game this season, but I have seen many of those kids play over the years. That senior class had many great football players & there is no shame in losing a close game to another football team. duke42 you need to grow up!

Believe me VOR, we know the feeling. Danville had our number for so many years, and sometimes we thought we had the better team. Seems like one year a kid blocked an extra point to beat us, I think his name was Redd. When we finally beat them in the semi-finals it was so sweet. I have so much respect for your team and you guys have so much to be proud of. One day the Tigers will get that win and it will be such a relief to you guys. The Tigers have a very great program and I look forward to many more great games between them and the Cardinals.:thumb:

 

That was David Walker in the '87 title game during the OT.

 

Donnie Redd was the all-state back that was on that team and scored the only TD in the Ads victory over the Cardinals in the '89 title game.

I'm sorry if you have had a bad experience with Beechwood in some way. Possibly Beechwood may have defeated your team, and you feel that you must snipe a comment such as that. Rude in my opinion.

 

Reading some of your previous posts about Beecwhood you mention you "support your son's decision to not play for Noel Rash anymore". Do you have beef with Coach Rash? Or do you have beef with the Beechwood seniors? Anyways I'm sorry your son didn't like the program.
