No way. NCC maybe one of the better teams, but, everytime CHC has played a decent team this year, they haven't been very competitive. NCC, Conner, Beechwood are the only 3 good teams they've played and have lost by an avg of 25-30 pts. They need to beat a good team to be in the discussion with the better 2a teams, imo..

Hard to explain, you have to be a "Bred" to understand. But I will say Clyde was right, "Old habits die hard". There was no need to add the Central to begin with. Hypothetically, If ND and CovCath merged and they called it Covington Central Catholic, I bet you the Park Hills Mafia and a whole lot more would feel just how plenty of us NewCath folks feel. Granted, it's not the end of the world, but we just don't like it.

 

As a graduate of NEWPORT CENTRAL CATHOLIC and a 3rd generation of the catholic high school in Newport (whatever you call it) I always with NewCath, or Newport Catholic. In fact, our seniors elected to put that on our away jerseys in '96 and on the side of our helmets. It just sounds better traditionally. My Mom graduated from OLP and she calls it NewCath, and she's as women's rights as it gets.

My father who graduated from Newport Catholic in the early 50’s did not like the “NewCath” term. It's all a generational thing.

Well if you went to NCC, you need to get your money back because obviously you cant count. NCC is a good school and Im sure they teach people how to count. Obviously you were napping in math class or you need glasses because you are wrong. Im sorry if this hurt your feelings because everyone else has moved on from the point. The reason I brought it up was to say that previous games don't matter. I don't know how to explain it anymore than that. No one cares what you did before. This is all that matters. I hope that you find something else to think about than NCC's first scrimmage today. Now that you are corrected again. I can send you the film if that would make you feel better. Move on from this point and enjoy the game this week.

If the game didn't matter, then why bring it up??? It doesn't matter to me, I was just correcting you. Apparently you need to rewatch the game or you can't count. I know what the point is, the game this week is all that does matter, I was just making my own point that if you're going to post something at least get it right!

I would ask Hightchew if he thinks Fuller is less competitve than him. You could say that to some teams, but many teams up here compete just as hard as he does

Oh, you mean the 3-8 Dixie and the 2-8 McNicholas for NCC? C'mon, man! No need to be baited into a "signature win" debate. HC is having a "signature season". All 3 losses are to teams that are in regional finals (including NCC). They have taken care of business against all other opponents in an impressive manner, especially all others in the district not named NCC. The stat that NCC needs to be concerned about is 154-0, which is the total score of HC's last 3 games since the first NCC game! So is HC doing anything different on both sides of the ball? Are they playing angry? Are they listening to their coaches more? Are the coaches adding new wrinkles? NCC has a fine team and should be favored Friday night...no question there. Many have said that NCC is the best at making second half adjustments. The Breds may have to prove that again in order to come with a win and move forward. I would like to see Holy Cross shock the 2A world and get a shot at a ring themselves.

 

HC hasn't had signature win since they started football period. Nothing against them but they have proven only to be NCC's door mat. Bruce needs more Cincy kids.

Use some intelegance when you post, this just screams lack of. You can brag your all mighty NCC if you want but HC has a good program that is getting better every game they play.

What was NCC's record their first 10 years. Not that I care just thought it would make you feel better.

I didn't know we were comparing signature wins. Obviously NCC has many signature wins. No one is disputing that, but to say that HC doesn't have one is interesting. I wouldve thought that a win, even if it is only one, against a great program like NCC would qualify

Hayes has played very well the last few weeks. Hightchew is a great athlete. HC has some really good athletes as well. I wouldn't count them out so early. This is why we play the game. I think it is going to be a close win for whoever wins

I will give the win '06. This brings me back to the coaching factor....41-7 in the playoffs in '06.

It sounds as if NCC fans are trying to prove themselves as the best here. They have already proven that they are the best last year and remain the best until someone beats them in 2A. No one from HC is saying that they arent the best and don't deserve their credit. They are the defending state champs for a reason. NCC is expected to win state. No one expects HC to win state. However, NCC has to go to what is expected of them this year first
