I've said before that HC is a team I root for .

However, using the last 3 games as an indicator of how they might fare against NCC's offense is unwise.

NCC has a potent offense centered around great athletes, HC will have to play some great defense starting across the defensive line. HC needs to keep Hayes and Hightchew from getting into space, and that starts with disrupting things up front.

I never said that HC will shut NCC out, I don't think anyone would say that. I am merely saying that HC has cranked up their defense in the latter part of the season, and could be tough for NCC. In fact HC played very well against NCC the first time around the difference was that NCC had 3 or 4 big plays that HC couldn't overcome, if you take away those plays I don't recall NCC ever really having an sustained drive in that game, if they had any there may have been one.

Sustained drives, big plays, both are part of the game. Holy Cross had two big plays in that game Fuller's "mad scramble", which was one heck of a run I might add, and the long td pass I believe. Other than that HC doesn't score period. I think this game will come down to the team with the better defense.

If Hightchew is healthy NCC wins.

Are these perhaps the 2 best teams in all of 2A?

Very possible.

NCC wins by at least 21..I am a Jugg fan and they appear to be hitting on all cylinders..WOW!

Very true statement

Sounds like a good assessment of HC from a HC fan. Keeping composure and not getting down on yourself is very important and I know Newcath has that composure. On paper I think Newcath is the better team but this is the playoffs and HC upset is not out of the question. If NCC plays with the passion they played with Friday I think they advance and most likely by 2 or 3 tds. The other factor is coaching. With all due respect to the HC staff at this point in the playoffs adjustments play a large part of the game and NCC has proved year in and year out that they make those adjustments. It starts with the Head Coach and I think the better one is on the Newcath sideline!

I expect Hightchew to be ready to go and full strength, especially with how he played last night. The team with the fewest mistakes and best execution will win. I think this will be NCC's real first test since Coach Eviston has been the head coach. Im going with HC by 7

I guess Beechwood isn't a test.....

So tell me HC fans, what is your signature win this season, I honestly want to know what you think it is :idunno:

A victory over a very bad Holmes team:idunno: A victory over a totally overrated Owen County team:idunno: I know, your victory over Cooper, who lost in the first round of the Tourney:idunno:

Where as NCC beat a good Dixie team, a good GCL team in McNick and gave a very, very good Beechwood a much better game with Highchew out hurt for much of the game than did HC!

NCC by at least 3 TD's....

I guess Beechwood isn't a test.....

I thought the same thing when I read that post but assumed the poster meant test in the 2A playoffs.

Oh, you mean the 3-8 Dixie and the 2-8 McNicholas for NCC? C'mon, man! No need to be baited into a "signature win" debate. HC is having a "signature season". All 3 losses are to teams that are in regional finals (including NCC). They have taken care of business against all other opponents in an impressive manner, especially all others in the district not named NCC. The stat that NCC needs to be concerned about is 154-0, which is the total score of HC's last 3 games since the first NCC game! So is HC doing anything different on both sides of the ball? Are they playing angry? Are they listening to their coaches more? Are the coaches adding new wrinkles? NCC has a fine team and should be favored Friday night...no question there. Many have said that NCC is the best at making second half adjustments. The Breds may have to prove that again in order to come with a win and move forward. I would like to see Holy Cross shock the 2A world and get a shot at a ring themselves.

I shouldve added in 2A, where it actually matters. NCC losing to BW is a rivalry, but has no bearing on a championship

I guess Beechwood isn't a test.....

That is what I meant. Thank you for helping clear that up

Wow! Nothing else needs to be said. Pete said most of it. I guess HC should just quit because they didn't beat anyone that is any good this year. Way to disrespect several teams that had good seasons and make all of NCC's games sound like they played the 84 Bears

Hightchew is the most competitive kid around and will not let his team lose...Breds by 2 scores..
