McNick would easily beat HC? I will have to disagree.

HC has taken care of business against the likes of Brossart, Newport, Dayton, Lloyd, Carroll Cty. and a very overrated Owen Cty. team. 11-1 against NOBODY, a struggling Holmes team missing half their good players. Dixie is 3-8 against teams like Highlands, Boone, etc. McNick is a GCL team and would easily beat HC. 154-0, but against who?

If you were at the Holmes game, who were they missing? They might not have had much confidence coming into the game after getting pounded by Highlands and CCH, but they had the same players against HC that were in the CCH game

"Taking care of business" means doing what you are supposed to do. A lot of these games were running clocks in the 2nd quarter. What more are you expecting?:madman: The Holmes game was 41-0 IN THE 3RD QUARTER before the power went out. I was at the Holmes/Beechwood game. Holmes might have had some different players on offense, but the highly rated defense appeared to be the same. What do you expect? What a difference a week makes. 7 days ago Owen County was undefeated and MANY were picking them to stomp HC at their place. Now, they are overrated???? Which is it? Can't have it both ways! It takes a good eye to evaluate a team (NCC or HC) in spite or regardless of the quality of their opponents. Maybe Dixie is 3-8 for reasons other than who they played. Maybe they just had "issues" (see other threads) and underachieved. My point in my previous point was not a slam at NCC at all. I was simply doing an analysis on the HC season and how they have reacted after losses. After the Beechwood loss, they beat a 6A school and easily ran through the early part of their district schedule. After the NCC loss, they made improvements defensively and shutout three opponents. In the end, none of this really matters. All that matters is Friday night...two teams that both deserve to be there based on season and playoff records who will play for the right to go to the state semi-finals. NCC has been further several times. HC has not. HC realizes that they will be judged for how they do in games like Friday night. It all comes with the territory.

You have never been a coach then. That is pretty naive to think that your players do everything perfect and coaching is to blame for everything. Every coach has a gameplan. Your kids have to execute it. Sometimes your plan can be great, but the players on the opposing side are just better

I don't even know what your talking about?!!!! Watch what you say before you respond! I was responding to rather or not the Newcath side would pull for HC in a state final!

I was on the HC/Owen Co. Thread saying HC was going to win big. This is the game that is the focus. In my eyes, I liked Mcnicks D a whole lot better than the HC D. I think Mcnick wins head to head to head but still doesn't matter cuz their is only one road to the state championship and doesn't go through Anderson township or Dayton. Enough of this let's play!

He is defintely a better athlete. Jerry Arlinghaus was the ultimate competitor and utilized his God given talent to it's maximum. He had good size, was fearless and was a pretty accurate passer. In my opinion Fuller is a much greater running threat and has a stronger arm. Fuller could play RB, WR as well as QB. In fact if he plays at the next level I would expect him to be a d-back or WR. Fuller probably doesn't check down to his 2nd and third options like Jerry did, but his arm strength probably allows him to make throws that Jerry did not.

Having said all of that, I think it's very hard to say who is the "better" qb. It's somewhat like comparing Montana vs Brady.

I would go with Highchew! :D

I hope you are kidding bringing Montana and Brady into a HC qb debate. I know you are laughing at home right?

Pounded? Winning consistently is different than pounded. BW never hung 56 on a newcath Team or won by 5 Tds that I know of.

Not being rude, but if you have the time look up the scores of there games especially toward the end of the decade. I don't know how to post a link yet being a newbie and all. It's funny how 10 years changes everything.

I don't what's rude about but feel free to throw out some scores. I know some of the HC fans didn't like me talking about coaching but that was the biggest difference from the late 90's going into to 2000. Dave Schneider took over as offensive coordinator and Dan Wagner on the defensive side. The athletes have always been there.

Don't know about scoring 56, but they did beat us by 5 TDs when I played (which happened to be their best team ever in '97).

Is this the longest "non Highlands" thread of the season?? Good luck to all tonight.

I was just thinking the same thing......hahaha. Agree, good luck to all.

It may be an All-time record. Don't worry, they'll make up for it in the post game comments

Cov Cath and Highlands play tonight also. Im thinking they might beat us in the post game bickering.....haha

we lost 55-0 to beechwood, some else throw some scores in. The idea that newcath has "always" been dominate is wearing extremely thin with me. I love the fact that NewCath is top dog (kind of jealous) but they were not always/are world beaters. The coaching change did and still does have a reason for the turn around.
