Who will play QB for Dixie this week?

Featured Replies

If this is true, could Cooper possibly pursue something since the activities occurred on their facility?

Maybe but I doubt they would. This is a Dixie issue and they are letting Dixie handle it.

Two years back CovCath suspended two players for TWO games for having smokeless tobacco in their lockers. That says something about standards and results you get by setting the bar high and holding the kids to it.

I remember that. Each school has to do what they think is best and right.

What I can't figure out is how Cooper folks were the ones to discover the indiscretion.

Subject: Please forward to football parents

Dear Football Parents,

There was a concern brought to my attention about an alleged incident in the locker room prior to the football game at Cooper last night.

Mr. Rick Culross, DPP was contacted for guidance on investigating the incident. Assistant Superintendent, Dr. Kim Banta was available and met me at Dixie this morning at 9am to assist. We spoke with the coaches prior to the players arriving and they separated the players in the auditorium and their cell phones were collected to keep them from communicating before they were interviewed so that Dr. Banta and I could speak with the players individually. We called them in one at a time and interviewed 22 total players. After each interview the player's cell phone was returned and the player was free to leave.

Please be aware that there is rumor that students may be using synthetic marijuana that although it is legal (18 years of age) is still very dangerous for their health. Feel free to Google it for more information on its affects.http://www.thestate.com/2011/10/25/2022014/sc-bans.html

The coaches and myself are available to talk if needed. To protect the player's confidentiality we can only discuss the process, not individual comments.

Thank you

Larry Tibbs

If you're wondering has worked made its way to Alabama the answer is yes.

IDK, I am not a big fan of diggin on a High School kid regardless of the incident. For people to get on this Football sports forum and start speculating on a HS kid is flat wrong imo. Maybe the facts are the facts but the "ole washwomen goshipers" on here wanting to throw stones at a HS kid is pretty "un-christianlike" if you ask me.

The kid has made mistakes, his mistakes come at a higher price because of his accolades and the fact that some feel the need to just pick away. This is a matter that should be dealt with by the HS, the admistrators and the parents if you ask me and not on a public Sports forum.

Sweep not implying you, but I don't recall Vance Sullivan getting these kind of considerations.

One would think a HS principal would know how to use a reflexive pronoun properly in a formal correspondence . But then again, perhaps not.

(Sorry, it is one of my pet peeves)

Not really breaking news I posted about it on here at 3:15 yesterday 24 hours later. :D

WOW!!!

Another case of synthetic marijuana. I just don't get it. Before the game, too? I hope he can get on the right path before it is too late. Any word on if this will affect his scholarship? Will he miss time on the basketball court?

Self destruction is never pretty. Very sad.

See the Hot Topics forum. It was first brought up yesterday. BGP has the breaking news well before the local news.

Good catch. There are a few things that would need to be changed. Myself guesses it was put together hastily and ol' Larry has some bigger fish frying.

Your English teacher must be bursting with pride, Scout.
