I don't know how much summer ball matters but I saw Bowling Green beat Eastern at Male. They looked pretty good to me. Athletic!!!! I don't know about top 15 in the state but they will have a good team!!

 

I'd take heed to Dragonfire's post. Also, Boyle County beat Eastern this summer also and Boyle is not a top 15 team in the state. I don't know if I would go by that benchmark. DF speaks the knowledge on BG and Central.

Pulaski Co is going to be very good and I haven't seen them mentioned yet.

 

That's because with Southwestern's new transfer Pulaski County isn't even the best team in their region. Pulaski is good as is Southwestern. Both will have to play their way into the top 15, IMO.

Summer ball doesn't usually work as an indicator of in-season success. It's like preseason in pro football. Eastern also replaced nine seniors. I'm not entirely certain what kind of team they'll have in general, but I'd say in the summer they're going to be much worse off than they would be come January.

One of the best teams in the west may be Hopkinsville ... lots of talent, but much of it is young.

No doubt. Gover and Johnson are very nice. I think they lost their center and power forward so I'll be interested in seeing if they can have any post presence this season. Those two were big on the boards for them. Until Southwestern received their new transfer I had Pulaski County and Southwestern as 1A and 1B in our region. Now I give the nod to Southwestern. Pulaski has a nice team though. No doubt.

You can't put much stock in summer ball.

 

Example. The year South Laurel won the state championship Holmes beat them by 25 over the summer.

Speaking of Holmes, I think they have the potential to be in the top 15 toward the end of the season. A lot of questions to be answered on the bench but they'll have a very good starting 5 and will compete with Dixie to get to rupp.

They barely are in the top 10 in their region

Saw Warren Central play this summer and Hopkinsville, both are very talented, after the top 5 you have about 25 teams that could be ranked arguable at some point. When you look at some of the teams listed it is obviouly about respect from past years. Hard to see everyone play in the state, summer is a good time to see different teams but a hard time evaluating teams because they dont have all of their kids sometimes.

Yes. Probably not top 10, but I'd still have them as top 20. It can't come as much of a surprise that Pike isn't going to hang around Northern Kentucky.
