Highlands 34 Elder (OH) 29

I was standing ten yards from that play and the sound of those two helmets colliding was sickening. I couldn't believe PT got up, let alone ran in for a score two plays later.

I think if somebody can come up with the video and not still pictures all speculation would be gone. In the 1st photo # 92 is nowhere near PT and two other players already has him close to being down. How long did it take #92 to even get near PT ? Besides a hit to any part of the helmet of a QB is automatic personal foul , and just by seeing the still pictures I would say it was a late hit to boot . Sure would like to see video , anybody ??

I'm sure Elder coaches and players have seen film of this game. I wonder if anything was said to #92 by Elder coaches.

We were sitting on the 50 yard line and didn't see or hear anthing with the crowd noise. I know a former Bird LB'er that if he would have saw what happened on that play , we would have had to put him in a straight jacket to keep him off the field. There is no amount of cough syrup that would have kept him calm!! There is a big difference between being tough and being dirty !!

I tried to bring up the Elder Webcast from last night, but apparently they don't archive them.

I wonder if it had been anyone else if there's be the uproar about the hit. Not trying to stir here, just seems that because it was PT that there is a larger outcry.

Thanks for trying , I appreciate it !!!

Wow give me a break. That's all that happens over here. Highlands Beechwood and NCC. Same with the paper. I understand they're all state contenders, but come on man.

You need to quit worrying about Highlands, Beechwood and NCC , and concetrate on beating Bellevue.

For those interested, here is video (if it works) of the play being discussed in this thread...

Hope Towles is okay...great win for Highlands. That's a tough call for the officials. It did look like there was holding on #76 for Highlands. Was that called?

You got a holding call out of this video. I know it's late but a hold? Really?:idunno:

That's called a pancake brother...Wow!!!

Looks like he used his helmet as a weapon but the play transpired so quickly.......I would chalk this up as being in the wrong position at the wrong time. Very unfortunate and hope this doesn't have any lasting effects on Patrick. As an aside, it was eerily ironic that an assembly was held discussing sports related concussions on C-Span yesterday. Might be something the involved parties may want to watch. Insight ch.19. I'm sure I don't need to remind everyone just how serious head trauma is over the long term. Hope he takes it slow.

It appears #92 had two penalties. Watch #92 him come all the way across the field.
