High school football postseason approaches

Among highlights this weekend: Ryle won at Dixie Heights, Highlands lost at Elder and Bellevue defeated Dayton. Tomorrow, NewCath battles Holy Cross. Get updates on our live scoreboard page.

In national news, Dewey defeats Truman...again!!

Congrats to the Bluebirds on their first win over Elder.

Congrats 'Birds!

They needed a tough game before the playoffs started and they got it tonight. Hopefully PT is ok and back for the 1st or 2nd round of the playoffs.

Anyone have the count on penalities? Highlands had more than usual, but I bet Elder had less than 4 called on them.

Wonder how many snaps and punts will be practiced this week.

The defense did a good job, bent but didn't break.

Not that it matters, but I just watched the highlights on Channel 19. Elder's qb knee was down on that first touchdown to tie the game. And by the highlights you would have thought Highlands lost. They showed 2 Elder td's and 4th down stop by Elder. No bird highlights at all.

^ Not surprising. We got the "w" and that's what counts. Way to go, 'Birds!

Yeah, it was like "Look at all these awesome plays by the Panthers. In a related side note, Highlands managed to hang on for the win."

And you're right on the bad TD call. The refs we're giving Elder lots of tasty home cooking in the early part of the game.

Hey, before I forget, Props out to a very gutty Elder squad on a great effort during a most difficult week of a difficult season. It's not easy but the lessons learned will serve you well in life!

Congrats to the Bluebird faithful from Boyle County. It's always good to see Ky teams defeat out of state teams. I hope Towles is fine and good to go in a week or so. Proud of you guys and congrats on your big victory.

That is awesome, and I'm sure it is much appreciated. :thumb:

Ever since Coach Mueller and Highlands began two-platooning, Highlands is 2-0 vs. the GCL-S and 4-0 overall against Cincinnati teams. Impressive!

And I don't give a flip about what Whackem' or anyone else says, this was a VERY MEANINGFUL game for HHS and HHS' fans, and it was a HUGE, HUGE win for the football program. Also, I suspect this kind of game will help HHS' players and coaching staff prepare for the playoff competition.

Congrats to HHS on the HUGE win!

Ramsey could be one of the worst play callers I have ever seen...Wow!!!!! Elder had some big boys!! Great job Birds..:ylsuper:
