I agree and I'll up you one. Get rid of the open week and play the championships (for four classes....don't need any more) during Thanksgiving weekend.

 

Also, play some of the championship games (maybe two of them) at Commonwealth Stadium. Their precious grass will have the whole winter and summer months to heal.

There were plenty of times this year when Steve or Blayne would catch a kick in the endzone, and they would have been GONE if they'd had the opportunity to return it.

Have a KHSAA state champiON, not championS. Seed the 4 teams who win their division (a, aa, aaa, aaaa). Do this on some sorta conisistent, objective basis every year (whatever that is). Let the 1 and 4 team play and the 2 and 3 team play. Let the winners duke in out for an All-Division State Champion.

I can see where you're coming from but I'd do it a little differently. Have a large school overall state champ and a small school overall state champ. You match up a 1A team and 4A team, in the majority 4A is still going to beat on them badly. So just have 3A and 4A state champs play and 1A and 2A play.

That definitely needs to be done because so many kickers now can make it to the endzone
