Have you turned your heat on yet?

Featured Replies

Been there done that. When I was a teenager we heated our house with a wood stove, the only source of heat we had. We spent the entire spring and summer cutting timber and working it down into firewood. It was a ton of work. I was never so glad in my life as I was the day we switched over to a heat pump.

I must admit though, I kind of enjoyed the fire building and the warmth of that stove. When you came in out of the cold, it was awesome to stand in front of that thing and warm up. Plus, there was nothing like walking into that house and smelling the soup beans or vegetable soup my mom would have simmering in a kettle on top of that wood burner.

My Dad still uses wood heat as does my brother. Though theirs are secondary sources of heat I still recall fondly that first year of college realizing that my wood chopping days were over.

Not yet. Keep hoping the wife may need to move closer for extra warmth......wonder how cold it has to get?:D

No heat, yet, but I did out my electric blanket on my bed. Managed to get through the night without turning it on though. That's 'cause I'm tuff with two f's.

Not yet for me.

Usually not til Nov, unless Mrs C makes me. Usually works out good. I don't get cold and she's cheap.

I think frugal would be a more appropriate word.

No. Haven't turned on the heat, yet, but my AC didn't kick on but twice yesterday.

I still have my air conditioning on.

Had to turn it on last night. It got pretty cold outside.

Nope not yet !!
