Have you turned your heat on yet?

Featured Replies

I finally bit the bullet and turned our heat on this morning.

The temp in the house dropped to 64, so I turned it on for a little while to break the chill.

Have you turned on your heat yet? If so, how long ago did you do it?

Nope. It's supposed to be 80 later this week, and I'm holding out. Now, I AM pretty much immobilized by the mountain of blankets I'm sitting under, though. I'm so cheap!

Yes last night.

Same. Man the gas heat smells when you 1st fire it up. At least it does here. Turned on the heat and cracked 2 windows and turned on the ceiling fan.

Funny you mention this.

I just turned mine on yesterday.

Of course I keep it at 60 overnight.

Did the heat kick on at all?

We didn't turn ours on until this morning. I expected to get up this morning and see the house temp in the 50s but it was 64.

We have a fairly small house though and it is well insulated.

.

Nope. It got down to about 64.

I turned it on last night to get the nip out of the air. Then knocked it down a few degrees. Not sure it ran much last night. Did it for the obvious reason I did not want to be cold, but also just to give it a test run before it really does get cold.

Heck no. If it weren't for my wife, I would never turn it on.

The Boss turned it on early this morning as it got down to 64 in the house and with all the rain this week the house felt damp too. She set it at 67 then turned it down to the normal 65 degrees to get as she called it "the dampness out of the air! BTW we have a heat pump! Can only remember one other time turning the heat on this early in the season but then again as we get older......

I was woken up this morning by someone wanting to light the pilot light at my apartment. I figured if I had to wake up to let them in on a Sunday morning, it was a good time to also turn the heat on.

Nope, but the sweat clothes/wool socks have been washed and blankets. Sunny and 80 all next week, usually turn it on in November.
