Highlands rolls, fumbles will be the only thing that can either keep this game close or blow the doors wide open.

Cov Cath fan, but I'd have to pick the birds right now.

Other than the fact that everyone loves this game, it's not THIS one that matters.

What matters is if adjustments can be made and a game plan put in place for the November match up....

 

With what i've witnessed with this versatile offense, no defensive adjustment out there would be enough. Cov. Cath had better "adjust" their offense.

Why will playing Covington Catholic at home be so tough for the Birds? They've won 6 out of their 7 games there going back to 1998. They've actually lossed twice at home to Covington Catholic in the same time period. So Covington Catholic actually has a better chance of winning at DCM.

Colonels need to play mistake free ball and cause turnovers to have a shot. Let Gabe Gray do his thing with his big bully line in front of him. If that's not good enough then adjust.

Last year's thread on this game had HHS winning by 2127-yeah I love to exaggerate- and it ended up quite a bit closer and a fantastic game to watch. Hoping this year will also be a great match on the gridiron and who knows...miracles happen :lol:

Highlands D is not the Beechwood D. Gray gets less than 100 yards against the Birds, and the D-Backs will have a field day if CCHS has to turn to their air game.

It's true that Highlands is no Beechwood, but at the same time CovCath is no Mason County or Western this year. As the guru pointed out, these may be the two best teams in 4A.

I feel confident this year unlike the last couple that there will be a rematch in November.

I believe this is more of an interesting game than many are thinking. I believe that the Birds win, but closer than a lot of others are saying; I'm thinking by somewhere between 7 and 14.

Actually, I believe odd regions host in odd years. Also, District 5 & 6 make up Region 3, while Districts 7 & 8 make up Region 4.

 

This year, HHS or CCHS will (barring a tear in the space/time continuum) host the regional final (3rd round) and would travel for the semi-state (4th round).

 

Boyle/LexCath - D5

Rockcastle/Knox Central - D6

Highlands/CovCath - D7

Ashland/Johnson Central - D8

Highlands D is not the Beechwood D. Gray gets less than 100 yards against the Birds, and the D-Backs will have a field day if CCHS has to turn to their air game.

 

If Gray gets less than 100, it will be because for some reason he doesn't get enough carries. If I am CCH, my game plan is for Gray to have a minimum of 20 carries, and hopefully 25+. If that happens, CCH has a chance to win the game.
