Most of us know that this group of Beechwood seniors won the overall NKY Frosh championship three years ago and everyone has been pointing to this year as the Beechwood's year. The only reservation most Beechwood insiders have talked about is Beechwood didn't have the horses up front to go with all the skilled athletes. The consensus has been good, but not great up front and lacking in depth with not much help in the junior class. With all that said Beechwood already has two injuries on their offensive line so will the offensive line be Beechwood's achilles heel? Or, has the line play and depth advanced enough to get by everyone including Mayfield?

I contend that the only team that can beat Beechwood this year is Mayfield. And by the time those two teams meet, Beechwood will have the holes filled. I think Beechwood will be in the Championship game and no one can convince me otherwise until they are beaten.

Where line injuries could hurt is that some guys will be playing more on both sides of the ball instead of going one way. As far as quality, there is plenty of depth and size in the line IMO.

I gotta think that the right side of the Bw offensive line will suffer if neither return as I think maybe the case. Isn't one of the replacements one of the new transfers who obviously was not a part of the great frosh title team. In looking at the film I would be a little concerned if I were a Bw fan

Bw sure has kept it quiet about the linemen going down. Sorta makes a guy ask why it never came up.

Sometimes talking about and injury (or two) can be construed by some as making excuses for the rest of the season. It also leads to tons of speculation about what actually happened and how long the player will be out. Let's see what the official prognosis is (I should know something tonight) and then we can offer it up for discussion. Regardless, it is next man in and fortunately for BW there is some depth on the line.

They whipped 6A powerhouse Simon Kenton. It can't be all that bad in Ft. Mitchell...

Of course the injuries are gonna hurt BW some especially if its a season ending injury.I think BW real achilles heel resides in far WKY.

I think the line will come together.

 

They have a good line coach that should be able to pull them together pretty quickly. Out of the 5 lineman (tackle to tackle), they had 6 seniors working those spots. That leaves one open. I hear they have another senior that will fill that spot until one of the lineman come back. I do think that one will be back shortly (at least that is my hope).

What is the lineman's name who transferred in to BW? Is he one of the injured? I am assuming he is now part of the team.

I think Beechwood has a tremendous team neck and neck with Mayfield but that was not a 6A Powerhouse that they beat.
