If the Rocks go into the Pit @ Elder tomorrow night and win by 4 TDs I'll be very surprised. Win yes, Blowout no. All 3 Cincy GCL South schools on Trinity's schedule are stronger than the Tennessee schools they've played already IMO.

As much as I would love to see it, I don't expect Trinity to run the Ohio table. I just hope they survive it without a serious injury.

I agree with you. I may be wrong, but from a distance this Highlands team just doesn't seem as dominating as the past two. I think CCH is definitely better than they have been in several years and they almost beat Highlands last year. I can't say what chance Lex Cath or Boyle has but I think they do have a chance to beat Highlands. So I don't see Highlands as the lock that they were the past few years.

 

Trinity on the other hand ... it is going to surprise me a lot if anyone can challenge them.

 

I agree. I think CovCath can make some noise this year. I don't think anyone instate will compete with Trinity.

I said it earlier in the preseason and will say it again. The Birds will have a very difficult time with Cov. Cath. I see a split in the series a very distinct possibility. Anything goes in this series as history clearly reveals.

 

A lot can happen between now and then, but if the CovCath defense let Dixie score almost at will, I don't see Highlands having a whole lot of trouble with them. Dixie is exactly the mess I thought they'd be. Home field advantage might be something that CovCath has going for them, but I don't see the regular season game being a lot different than what we've seen over the last few years.

I'm not disagreeing, but last year was a 1 TD win for the Birds with CCH essentially running out of time as they were driving for the tying score. You can't compare scores with what the Birds do, and what CCH does, you just can't. HHS is always known to win games by some staggering scores, and CCH does not. But when the two meet up, other than the debacle a couple years ago, CCH and the Birds is always a great game.

I assume you are talking about Towles? They have a very capable backup in McCoy...McCoy would start at 3/4 of the teams in NKy..

I don't see anyone in 6A coming close to Trinity. As far as 4A is concerned, I believe that Highlands is the favorite, but they won't have it as easy as they have while in 5A. The 4A class has a lot of talent; this season I would say by far the best overall class for football.

After watching the Birds tonight you are wrong. They are too fast and will roll CCH.
