Home field advantage might be something that CovCath has going for them,

Home field advantage is at or near the top in the most overrated high school football factor category.

For Friday night games, I agree with you 100%. Saturday games throw everyone off their routines. There is just something different about playing at WF on a Saturday, and that's the Gods honest truth.

Highlands looked impressive last night. The boys looked focused and ready to play after a bye week. If you are going to beat HHS you better have your A+ game & the birds must be off their normal game. Defense looked pretty awesome last night.

I wouldn't get too excited. It's a long season and Highlands is ONE injury away from being very beatable.

No disrespect, but this quote shows me you haven't paid very close attention to the Highlands program over the past 5 or 6 seasons. While injuries always hurt (no pun intended), the ability to replace injured players both in & between games has been a strength of the Birds for some time now. Loosing players the caliber of Josh Conner & Will Bardo would be an excuse for many teams to not reach the ultimate goal, and yet state championships were won in both instances.

Highlands is certainly the favorite in 4A, but I wouldn't rule out Boyle County being able to beat them come playoff time. I don't know about the other schools some have mentioned, but based on the Rebels track record, it is a reasonable expectation that they'll be a much improved team by season's end.

As far as Trinity, I would agree. I think they're a lock. I doubt they even get tested in 6A.

I said it earlier in the preseason and will say it again. The Birds will have a very difficult time with Cov. Cath. I see a split in the series a very distinct possibility. Anything goes in this series as history clearly reveals.

After watching the Birds tonight you are wrong. They are too fast and will roll CCH.

Whoa!!!! You two stop it right now. It's not worth it to break up your friendship. I had breakfast with the FTM and alphabet soup is a little upset you two are not agreeing on this. Can"t we all just get along!

We might have to get the mitts out and meet down at the riverbank....Old School Style !!! LOL

I do think CovCath is going to be a decent game for about a half and the Birds will have to come out firing on all cylinders for that game as it wont be on National TV. However, if they do play like they did last night it will be a 3-4 TD spread win.

Not this year or next with Trinity. The last two years Trinity has a whole new level of athletes and direction for football and basketball. 6a ("X") will do what it can to keep it close.

Go Tigers

Nope.

The Bengals will give both teams a run for their money.
